Reejr's crippled I-CAZ was discovered crippled and moving at speed 4.5, and was taken out of it's misery by FireSoul's Z-HDWV  and Kroma's G-DNH

Likkerpigus's KCRf defeated Mantis's CB in a planet assault.
F'in great game, Mantis used his defenses to the best. I'm sure if he wasn't getting near bedtime we would have went over 2 hours.

Jachyra's BBVZ and GreyWolf's CAZ   killed  sup's CCH

in a nebula hex.

Kudos to sup for bravely turning back into us even though he was badly hurt from a previous battle.   I tempted him back by saying I would not be ablle to launch my fighters.  (yeah, like he fell for that .........NOT)

Then Greywolf and I jumped Kroma on Ghdar II (hex 40.5).   We ran him off, but......................

(last successful mission for my BBVZ, as Firesoul will now tell you)

Ok.. well.. there's this report I have to make.

I am happy to announce to the Gorn the destruction of Jachyra's I-BBVZ and GreyWolf's I-CAZ.


Their ships were caught behind enemy lines in a deep strike mission which they could not win: I drafted them on 40,5 with a Planet Defense that had 2 H-SBs on my side, in my control. (They had just jumped on Kroma on the planet, who disengaged.) After all the AI was dead, I sent off my own ship over the  border and assumed command of the front H-SB.

The combined and long efforts of GreyWolf and Agave/Jachyra's BBVZ were not able to crack the tough shell of the H-SB while Kroma made sure that the hexes outside and around the planet remained strong and in Gorn's possesion. I salute you guys. You fought well and tried it all.

Mission Length: about 1h 40 minutes or so.

A big Salute to Kroma and Firesoul for setting up such an ambush, using their brains instead of their ships alone to accomplish the feat.  Just goes to show that intelligence strategically plays a major role in a server.

Kudos guys, well done indeed.

As for Agave, don't sweat it at all bro, this game is about ships getting blown up, sometimes it is your sometimes theirs, main thing is you had fun, and I'm sure it will be one of your most memorable fights ever.  Of my top 10 favorite fights ever on the D2 8 of them resulted in my ship losing, dying in 7 cases in fact.  So buck up bro, and just think you wont have to worry about me tractoring it into a planet anymore...... ;D

I so expected that..  :P

Dizzy's just upset that he can't finish off any pilots in an equal battle. Why just the other night he left me unsatisfied, and I was begging for it. I think he has a little bit of performance anxiety.

Well, it was good thinking on Kroma's and Firesoul's part and excellent use of the non disengagement rules around planets.  However, for future servers we might want to consider something, The BB was prevented from disengaging from stationary objects, doesn't really make sense.  Firesoul had run his own ship off the map and the ai had been destroyed, so theoretically their ships would have had little difficulty moving away from the bases.

In no way am I remotely suggesting that the outcome be changed for this particular mission nor the rules for this server, just thinking ahead.

Then make sure you take them tonight, as I have placed the DNH in spacedock and intend on going on a rampage with all those mothballed specialty ships in our yards. I will NOT be out done by the likes of Jinn!!!!

Yup. Something to think about... I mean... It's not like the BB was running, right?

For this mission:
I disengaged my ship knowing that it made no difference in this case. However, if I still had my ship, I would have kept it in the mission, probably tractored by one of the bases. I am fairly confident that I could have kept it out of harm's way, since I had 2 SBs.

.. would that have made a difference?


For the future:
Yes, if there are no more moving enemies, it's something to be considered.
