Well, this buddy of mine sent an email showing all these weird looking fish. These fish are supposedly of the deep sea variety, and are not commonly seen. The email said that the were displaced as a result of the huge Tsunami that occurred recently. I don't know if the picture were a hoax or not. The pic in my sig is of a "prickly shark." Cute, ain't it?  ;D

you should search for the "Goblin shark" Mitsikurina owstoni, and "Megamouth shark" Megachasma pelagios
or the extinct sharks like "stethacanthus", "helicoprion", "hybodus", "edesteus", "falcatus", "xenacanthus",
or "iniopteryx" and "cladoselache"
Its funny how many biologists believe that sharks have not changed much in millions of years...but the truth
of the matter is that they really have...and still are.  "Hammerhead sharks" are among the latest sharks to evolve
on our planet...making them relatively recent additions to the shark family.

Other fun living fish to check out are:
"Oarfish", "Sunfish", "Fluke" & "Flounder", "Viperfish" & "dragonfish", "Anglerfish", "hagfish" & "lampreys", "tripod-fish",
"stargazers", "stonefish", "mudskippers", "lungfish", and the thought-to-be extinct "Coelocanths"

Another cool group of fish that is totally extinct and have no known living relatives are are the "placoderms", and the "arthrodires"

Hope this helps Bernard :)

Bernard, I think you may be on to something there. Actually, when I was looking at this shark, I could almost picture it with a bridge module and some hanger bays...

Alternate universe:  Khan was banished for preserving the peace. The Genesis device was really a super weapon and kirk had planned to use it on the klingons. Chekov found the Botany Bay and khan hijakced and killed the evil reliant crew in an effort to destroy the genesis device.    Ahh i love it :D The alternate universe rocks.
