That's one thing I won't get, a cell phone game.  I think the whole idea is stupid.  The phone should remain a phone, a tool for communication, not a toy.  Besides, how long can a charge or even the battery itself last with so much cycling??!  PC games are even kind of sort of, slightly guilt instilling in me; my first use of computers and the first one I owned were for work only and the silly, cheapie games, like the old fashioned online Star Trek game on the old government-university-private research lab mainframe computer networks, like pinet, bitnet, etc., were good for a laugh and a break from what you really had to do on the machine!  Although, the "instant messaging" of those old nets were good for getting an online colleague's attention faster than e-mail.

A resurrected game?   hmmm........  SFCIV?

Oh, I'll likely be dissapointed, but it's still nice to dream.

I'd buy an even an upgraded version of Birth of the Federation. If they went back and redid it where you had some more control over tactical combat and made diplomatic relations a little more complex.

Oh, and actually made it go through the time periods complete with ship changes, etc.

Yes it is. The F&E map looks like most of the standard SFC campaign maps with the Fed in the middle, Roms lower rirght, Klingon lower left, etc.

Every turn you can build, convert and repair ships based on your economy. It's a great game, but it has too many rules and counters. It would be a great basis for a cool game. I'd love to see it linked to a SFC campaign.
