TiVo

Ack! Need advice from anybody familar with it.

The wife has missed one too many recordings of her soaps due to balky tapes and bizare VCR occurences. She mumbled something about TiVo a few weeks ago. I mumbled back don't think of it till I check it out.

She came home yesterday with a freakin TiVo. Seems one of her friends was whispering in her ear.

Seems they forgot to mention the need for a phone line and subscription service. Damn nearest phone jack is 22' feet away next to the computer; provided phone line is 25'. I smell trouble. I've got broadband at the computer, but no network.

And just how the hell do I keep a VCR/DVD combo hooked in?

Confused in NJ. ???

P.S. Why don't wives listen? >:(

Ahhh, the perfect world, wives would listen to reason. In the interim I wouldn't even mind if she didn't agree with reason or logic, but to just have her listen would be bliss. ;D

Nick, Nick, Nick...wives always listen..they just hear what they want to (or what you don't want them to)...

I think Dracho or waldo would be best to answer this for you Nick.  I know they helped when Deciding to Buy a Tivo awhile back, and Since I'm not Familiar with the Layout of the Cable Connections on the back...

They listen to their brothers.

They listen to all other women.

They even listen to YOUR brother, just not you.
