A balmy 50 degrees F with lots of blue skies and sunshine here in Austin, TX! You northerners be sure to keep the heat going and using all that heating oil. Oil is edging to the 50 dollars a barrel mark and I'm LOVING IT!  ;D

I would love to visit Hawaii. Unfortunately it will have to wait until I have enough money which won't happen until I win the lottery. :( The bright side of this is that it keeps the mosquitoes down. :D

I swear you UP'ers blood is made of antifreeze.  I used to think that this old Troll could handle the cold until I saw a UP'er standing in 40F weather with just a sweater on.  Brrrrrr.   :D  BTW it's about 20F out here now.

Because of alternate side parking I am unable to leave the car plugged in this week so I just have to run it every few hours.

For those of you still not understanding how cold it is up here, when I mentiona dip in lake superior, a fresh ater lake the size of a small ocean, the temp doesn't change much all year, which is colder than a witch's left ta ta.  Even for those of us with antifreeze in our blood, a dip in the lake of superior this time of year can be a life altering experience.  i.e. is everyone here clear on the concept of shrinkage?
Well, a buddy of mine took a swim in superior one january and well, what was once an outie was now an innie, and his male member was no more.  Two weeks later he started to sprout boobs.
This is why fewer men beat their women around these parts.  They don't want their significant others drugging them and tossing them in the lake.  They like their cohones.

Yeah, people don't have any idea of what a stabalizing affect a large body of water can have on the temperature and even the weather.  One nice thing about the land of 10,000 lakes.  Unfortunately with nearly all the lakes in the state frosen over, that effect is seriously hampered.

I remember we went TDY to Alaska and there where temps like that.

We had to heat cans of oil in hot water to get them to flow. And the cords on our head sets where shattering when we tyred to move them to launch the jets. :P

I remember the cracks my army bud from MN got when I asked what he did for fun in the winter. His reply was "ice fishing." I do know there are few places as beautiful and unspoiled as the north of our continent, but hacking a hole in ice and sitting around drinking is just not my thing, hehehehehehe, though last year and many years before that I would have LOVED the drinking part!  ;D I think I would have preferred being around the ladies than going ice fishing. Now deep sea fishing on the gulf coast? Now THERE IS SOME EXCITEMENT, sunshine, bikinis, and BIG FISH!  ;D

But tell me, can you heal what father's done?
Or fix this hole in a mother's son?
Can you heal the broken worlds within?
Can you strip away so we may start again?
Tell me, can you heal what father's done?
Or cut this rope and let us run?
Just when all seems fine, and I'm pain free, you jab another pin,
Jab another pin in me
