U.S.S. Patton NCC - 1945
« on: January 08, 2005, 01:06:55 am »
I had intended to have a much newer (and less overdone) ship posted as the first of the 2005 year. However, since my current project ship is still getting a lot of final work done to it, I figured I could at least upgrade the Patton which hadn't been touched since 2003. While there was nothing glaringly wrong with the old version, I still felt it could use an overhaul, especially if I intend to build a few variants from it. As I have said before, I prefer leaving the TOS ships to the experts but everyone needs to take a crack at that era at least once.

Well, if you don't qualify as an expert, then I don't know who does. Fantastic as usual. ;D

It looks wicked (pun intended). ::)

Seriously it's pretty cool, very close to the Constitution, but some original differences, the impule engine makes more sense structurally for one, and the wider pylons with that flared bit at the base of the nacelles are also much more sensible than those of the Connie.

I don't think you really need major qualifications for mixing up the TOS Constitution-class with elements of the TMP Constitution-class while giving your work a unique "signature" of your own, WZ (without giving up the classy feel of TOS tech).  You've done very well as always.

Looks beatiful as usual WZ
