K'da: Thunderclap (Toth Ngi'alh) class Frigate released
« on: January 08, 2005, 12:08:53 pm »
This was one of the first meshes I ever made (and at the time, my favourite) and she came in at a whopping 16,826 polys...  :-[
I've finally managed to get her down to something much more reasonable (2236 polys), and she's now finally available for download:  :D

Cool, my 1st ship was 11,000 polies. I didn't know what a poly was at the time. Of course I sometimes still use that many but now they add detail or roundness where as in my 1st ship they were just wasted . :P Oh and with me, the current ship I am working on is always my favorite, so I keep getting new favorites. :)  btw that was an aggresive design to try for your 1st ship, most of us start out with something easier like a box with nacels  ::)

Thank you both!

You know, I don't think I could do this one again if I tired!  I've forgotten how I made her - except that she was built from a single cylinder, because I didn't know how to combine elements at that time...  And I had absolutely no concept of poly count either, which is why so many of my [Covenant] models remain WIPs today.
