Mark 6 Constitution. Kitbash of WZ's various Connie models.....
« on: January 04, 2005, 01:02:49 am »
This is the standard refit.  All these ships use WZ's Valiant model, but with different nacelles for each.
The pen is truly mightier than the sword.  And considerably easier to write with.

Here is the NX refit (transwarp).

This is what I call a modified Mark 6.  I had shown progress shots of the ships to various people, and received requests for the refit connie nacelles to be put onto the model.   At first glance it looks to be nothing more than WZ's refit connie but with other textures, but I can reassure you that this ship is mainly the Valiant model, with WZ's refit connie nacelles grafted onto them.  All ships have been approved for release by WZ.

I would like to thank WZ for his permission for releasing these kitbashes, and a big thanks goes to various members of OutaLance shipyards.  Without them lending their talents to this project, I wouldn't have been able to do this.

The 2ND model better demonstrates a variant or refit for that ship.  Excellent bash !!

Good job to everyone involved.

It uses virtually all of WZ's textures from various models that he's made over the years, mainly his current line of Connies.  The original saucer registries were removed so that we could put new registries on them.  Also the insignia on the hull has been modified as well to give it a slight 25th century feel.   The deflector dish was donated by Fallen_Warrior, along with the warp textures on the NX refit, to give it that transwarp feel.  Great job my friend.  :-D  Also, thanks goes to Manitoba, not only for teaching me the basic kitbashing skills, but also for teaching me how to hardpoint, and also for helping with the placement of the nacelles on the NX refit.  ModelsPlease helped with making the registries on the saucers, and damn, they turned out beautifully.  Also, Sandman is recognized for teaching me how to add lightmaps using Max.  Capt. Dawg spent many hours pouring through the various textures we had and selected the ones that made this project possible, and he is also the one that suggested using WZ's old nacelles for the transwarp refit.  If I left anyone out, let me know.  :woot: :woot:

bloody hell - 25th C. refit? :o That'd make the older ships 155 years old (assuming any of the original Connies are still in service by 2400).

Very nice bashes, subtle and convincing

BTW the Ent-A was decommissioned in 2293 to make way for the Ent-B, might want to use a different name. ;)

Actually, it was done on purpose.  Capt. Dawg and I felt that as long as she kept her specific registry, i.e. NCC - 1701 - A, it wouldn't be much of a problem.  We all know the Enterprise was self-destructed, the Enterprise-C was destroyed at Neranda III, and the Enterprise D destroyed at Veridian III.  No one knows what happened to the Enterprise-B.  Maybe she was destroyed.  Maybe she was retired.  We do know the Enterprise-A was retired, so somewhere her hull was mothballed for later use if the situation ever arised.

I also remembered in DS9 when the Defiant was blown up, and then Capt. Sisko was given a new ship, and he was allowed to name her the Defiant.  This new Defiant got the original registry as her predecessor, with no A at the end of it, to denote the namesake.  So I figured, if that could happen in canon Trek, well, this could work too.  :-D  Besides, people always love their legends.

Yes but:

1. The Defiant registry was laziness because they didn't want to do new battle-sequences - they kept the registry specifically so they could be cheap and use stock footage and
2. The Defiant was destroyed, the 'new' Defiant was it's successor - the Ent-A was retired and has had 4 successors come and go, the Ent-E is still in service and after that there'll be an 'F' and so on. So if they did for some reason build a new one it wouldn't be called Enterprise because that'd be reserved for the current Enterprise - they don't seem to have 2 ships with one name in service at the same time in Starfleet, and the old one is in a museum anyway but if they got it out and refitted it they'd be more likely to recommission it with a new name than p*ss off the crew of the current Enterprise and generally confuse everyone by having two ships with the same really famous name in service.
If I determine the enemy's disposition of forces while I have no perceptible form, I can concentrate my forces while the enemy is fragmented. The pinnacle of military deployment approaches the formless: if it is formless, then the deepest spy cannot discern it, nor the wise make plans against it.

Personally I don't feel that the crews of either ship would feel pissed off or offended in anyway.  And it's not like you couldn't tear them apart.  :-D

I just got a mental image of the two Enterprises trying to drunkenly shov into each other in a pub and a Klingon ship flying inbetween to hold them 'at-arms-length'. Sorry, guess I've seen a few too many pub-fights. ;D
