I just recorded it off of NBC this evening. I have to say, that the stripped down version they aired there was much, much better than the full miniseries, imo. Still there were so many things that bothered me, and after seeing an episode of the series, I cringe even more. It could have been so much more than it is, the writing is abysmal, and half the actors are sub-par, imo. The only saving grace for the series was the few actors who do actually pull off their parts (despite what was given them by the writers). Anyhow, after reading a bunch of the reviews on Amazon, I guess the quality of the DVD isn't that good either. I guess I'll stick with my VHS copy (and I think I have one on a disc from the original airing as well, somewhere) and the original series, which had much more character (although they they could have left some of the cheese and corn at home, and it would have been better).
