What about Kali?
« on: January 01, 2005, 03:07:50 am »
www.kali.net

I don't know if many of you guys know of this program, but its a server program built to play many old and some new games out their.  I was wondering if anyone here has ever played SFC1 with Kali before?  I ask this because for some reason GSA is not working for me with SFC1 (not sure why).

Anyone ever test any of the SFC's with Kali?

Trust me, I already know all that.  I got SFC1 installed properly with all the patches required.  My only conclusion is that its a problem with GSA because I haven't been able to play a game for months.  that is why I was suggesting Kali.

I seem to remember something about It along time ago. Didn't Kali have a server for d2 also, back when Mplayer whimped out on there agreement?

Don't know about the D2 question, but I have Kali installed on my system and it looks like Kali at least works with SFC1.  Might work with SFC2 and OP aswell.

The only down side with Kali is that you do have to pay, but its a measly 10 bucks for a life time membership.  You guys should try it out.  I've played other games on Kali, its a great service.

It _was_ a useful service, but .. really, any game that can use IP these days doesn't need it. Back when they were all IPX games however, KALI excelled with its VPN-like tunnelling software allowing games like Doom and Doom2, as well as Descent and Descent 2 to be played..

.. oh god, did I ever play a lot of Descent2...

ANYWAYS, I do have an early early membership somewhere, but I don't use it because I don't need to.

You could always just hang out in the gamespy lobby and get some folks to setup an IP game (either by using chat or pm's) instead of going through the gamespy interface I suppose.

"There is as well  All Seeing Eye"

What is that suppose to mean Age?

I may try the IP type game on GSA.  That might work.
