Thinking about new project ...need help with brk_models
« on: December 31, 2004, 08:05:12 pm »
I have been debating for some time now on getting back into sfc mod'ing and modeling again after a much needed break.
But before I even take one step into this idea I am going to need some help with something my modeling program can not do, break models. Now right off hand I have no work load figured out or vast number of ships to pull from a wide range of sources as of yet. Currently I am looking at maybe some where around 24 models tops to start out with that could would be Canon. The rest would be filler ships and new concept designs to fit in the series back ground.

I am not going to state what this project is going to  be focused on since I do not want to jinx it. Much like the Robotech Mod and Borg Exodus project. Anyways think it over and keep me in mind, its going to be atleast a month before I finish my new computer system to help me handle this idea and stuff later on down the road.

Thanks for the offer.

I should be able to start working on a model or two tonight. Maybe by next week I should able to get a good start on this. I already started  a few new concept sketches last night to buff out the fleet a bit. But I really need to get a few canon ships under my belt before I tackle them. That way I have some sort of standard texture sets to play with so atleast all of the ships will have that uniform look to them.

Or you could teach yourself, the Taldren modelling manual explains a step by step process to making the .brk model, as well as most other things, you can download it at the above link ;)

Yeah.. I know all about that but that information can only help you if you have 3D Max R4 or R5. Unless someone has developed a plug-in for Milkshape that can handle doing brk_mod, which I highly doubt. It took 3-4 years just to get someone in the community to handle that task, thank god otherwise I would be going back to a 7 step conversion process just to generate the .mod files again.

I am an old timer from Sfc1 days back when plug-ins where not even available and you had to use SCME to get any model into the game.
