D.Net testing new Download Management
« on: December 31, 2004, 02:33:39 pm »
With the increased popularity of D.Net as well as the continued strengthening of the community, we've decided to incorporate a download manager to more effectively manage the bandwidth usage.

This is happening for two reasons:

1. It's essential to show the proper respect to Bear Technologies Corporation, who is hosting all of the D.Net / XenoCorp.Net, FireSouls Site and several other community sites. In respecting this awesome contribution to the SFC Community, we need to be pro-active and ensure that there's never a worry about over-extending our bandwidth.

2. Allow for our users to get sustained, constant speeds all of the time. Better management of our downloads offers the best speed for everyone, at all times, regardless of geographical location.

We'd like to invite you to "stress test" our new system, so:

Go download crazy today until about 8:00pm, Central Standard Time, American.

After this, you might experience some momentary outages in the downloads section of D.Net.  If this is the case, please be reminded you can always get access to the downloads through our FTP site :

ftp.dynaverse.net

Anonymous access is enabled to allow everyone full access to our library of files for the SFC Community.

Best wishes and our sincere hopes that your New Year will be awesome!
