Looks very nice, kind of an Excelsior contemporary but not an exact copy of all the details, the only thing I'd suggest changing is make the bussards light blue like on the Enterprise-B, none of the TMP era ships had red bussards and they look a little out of place. Other than that very nice design and model and a great introduction to your work.

She looks grand... but if you can, perhaps make the ship name on the underside of the primary hull a little smaller - it's not a big deal, but it just looks too big to me.

Looks great.

Only other thing to mention would be the yellow for the thruster area, you may want to use more orange in it and darken that area up a bit to match the over all appearence of the other textures.

the ship looks great my only gripe is the S shaped pylons but thats my personal opinion. nice weathering job it looks like you have a few minor texturing issues on the shadow effects around the edge of the saucer section tho but all and all a fantastic ship i look forward to its release

Yeah I dont really like the pylons either... As for the shadow effects, their are none, any shadows are actually rendered ;D

Thanks wulf ;)

BTW I forgot to mention - does this thing have any big guns? By which I mean torpedo launchers, if you're not putting them then don't read this next bit but if you are then you could put a pair at the fore end of the superstructure on the underside of the saucer. The bit with the windows all round it at the moment; just delete a couple of windows at the front and plonk 'em in there.

Probably the only suggestion that I would offer for this model would be the warp pylons as well. whatcha got there looks good but warp pylon need to be fairly straight in the front view. Theres the jeffies tubes, access ways, power conduits etc. that run thru there, so you want to make it easy to get to for the maintenence mechanics. A gentle arc might be good, but straight will be the fewest in polys.

Im a part-time aircraft mechanic so I always think about the mechanics job lol..

The engines look great - Id keep the red. I always look at the engines first ;D also very nice texture work too.

Personally, I would say keep the pylons.  It gives it a unique look.  But that's just my opinion.  The mesh is incredibly well built.  How long have you been building ships?  And the textures look just as good.

The red bussards could be kept if you added phaserbanks...you did say you wanted variants...

Now, I don;t like how the pylons dip down on it but the shape of the bussards is unique for a change...makes this not just another excel variant...and I've got 50 of them to stare at over here so change is welcome.

 :o

If you don't mind, try and stretch the nacelles aout a bit, even though then they'd become Excelsior engines with a new end cap, because right now they look waay too short for comfort.

If you want something interesting for your pylons, try a Centaur/Chimera style set of pylons. It's a canon arrangement and it looks much better. ;)

If you want, you could make them a bit less wide to keep the current top prifile from changing too much.
