The detail is looking VERY nice.  Good, crisp lines.  Hull plating work is good ...  and I like the pylons too !!

I'm taking some picts to study what you have done ( if that's cool !)

Be my guest.
I should have saved you the work up files though you would have really liked those. It shows the layers and how I used them, but they have already been deleted which is normal once I finish something.

Still waiting for DD to get back to me, then out the door she will go. It also means I get to keep playing with it and adding details, instead of finishing those other models I should be doing :)

Maybe, perchance, please, with your next project save the psd's...those would make an awesome learning tool. :)

They are actually done in PaintShop Pro version 8.1.

I still have one from the Excaliburs I did, it is a more simple one that I made for Don Dawson to help him learn texturing and layering. The ones from the Excelsior D get pretty complex about the saucer and may not be as helpful anyways. The Detail layers have allot on them but the Glow and Backgrounds can be useful. Normally the more complex ones are not as useful, they will not show erasing or overlays and raster compacting to form a detail(s) area.

PM me a E-mail address and I can send you the one for the Picture below. It is a overly simplified one but it get the point across. It is also one I don't mind sharing as the Excaliburs are a finished product as well as the Blue Fleet I was doing. Only two ships on the Blue fleet are left and have been in a unfinished state for over a year now. Only reason they will ever get done is for Mackie, as they were ships he wanted.

Alternate universe:  Khan was banished for preserving the peace. The Genesis device was really a super weapon and kirk had planned to use it on the klingons. Chekov found the Botany Bay and khan hijakced and killed the evil reliant crew in an effort to destroy the genesis device.    Ahh i love it :D The alternate universe rocks.

Don't have max, only got Milkshape running last night and you can not render with it. The Fuzzy stuff if because the model viewer is low resolution to begin with and then it has to be converted to a Jpeg for the forum to upload it. I will reload the game and see if it gets any better there, but I would not get my hopes up unless someone with max does it for me.
