I was never here, you were never here, this conversation never took place, and you most certainly did not see me.

was that kept up and decorated? or taken down and stuck in the basement like ours?

Sorry, shoulda been more clear.  I mean how long has your tree been up, decorated, with the lights on it, and in the house?

But that must've been one well made tree to last 23 years!

LOL, I knew what you meant, just giving you a hard time.  ;D I've tried real trees before, but always had Pets in the house.

I'll probably take our tree down around the 2nd of january.

About a month from late December to late January.  We would have taken it down sooner but our 22 pound cat kept hissing at us.   ;D

My dad got cute about 16 years ago and stuck our Christmas tree in the back yard.  This was a cut tree, mind you, no root system.  The damn thing is higher than the house, now.

Generally, the tree goes up the first Sunday of Advent, and stays up until Epiphany...

You're right, I'm not, but my ex-girlfriend's grandparents are Lutheran and they keep their stuff up that long.

What made me start this is that I was talking to a friend of mine and he said their tree's been up since Thanksgiving '02!!!

I have to admit, I like having it up, it makes the house seem more friendly.

OK I admit I was never a good Catholic girl!  Start of Advent is when Mary and Joesph start on their journey to Bethlehem?  And Epiphany is when the three wise guys (family nick name) show up with one practical gift and two funky ones?  I can't remember the dates . . .

Do I get a cookie if I'm right Mr. Mike?  *Alien with big brown eyes*  ;D

We've had ours up since right after Thanksgiving and we just took it down yesterday.  Yay!

The longest time I can remember is when I was little and I think it stayed up untill right before my brother's birthday, Feb. 5.

People take them down?

NPR is a lot like NASCAR.  Two hundred miles an hour in a circle, and you end up right back where you started with nothing but lost time for the effort.

Well, today is the 6th and my outside lights and my tree is still up.
I might be productive this weekend.   ;D
