Topic: What is the exact color of the VOR'CHA?  (Read 6537 times)

What is the exact color of the VOR'CHA?

I recently purchased a Furuta Vor'Cha in a charming shade of powder puff bllue. :-[  Needless to say, this isn't the color for a true Klingon Warrior!!! Captain Barney should command this ship! (Yech!)

Anyway, I am considering building a Vor"Cha, but I can't tell what the correct color is. I think it is a shade of dark green. Is there a cannon source for warship colors? Better still, does someone sell that color at hobby stores?

Its a cross between olive green and a dark green. I have some pics i can send you as soon as i unpack and install the scanner i got for Xmas.

 What ever piece of Targh dung made her Powder Blue, needs to be beaten oner the head repeatedly with a dull BaT Leth.

Klingon's evolved from a night time predator, and do not see well in the blue end of the spectrum. Thats why on their ship on TV they allways use low red light.

Thanks Ravok! If you want to hurt yourself, here's a nice pircture of the ship I purchased. I assumed it was a bad picture. It isn't. It is even worse in person. I also purchased a Bird of Prey which is done quite nicely.

 GacK!!!!!! That is nasty!!!!!!!  >:( >:( >:( I have NEVER seen a klingon ship in such a color. :P :P :P :P never! And the paint job on the Bird of prey is whacked as well.

 What color are the Federation ships? Pink? ;D

The Federation ships are all over the map. Some are grey or dirty white, but they added tons of blue to the Ambassador and whet crazy with the green on the TMP Enterprise.

 I think these guys are getting a little carried away with the artistic licence here. :P :P :P

 They would be great models if they could get the colors right.

 I have a set of limited edition Micro Machines Star Trek set i bought years back, and they are tiny compared to these. And the paint is on the money, including decals.

Wasn't it early on in the TNG episodes that the Vorcha's were a gray to a light blue color...and NOT the green color.  I'll have to go back to the first few seasons of TNG but I'm thinking that they were gray to gray/blue back then.

I know the Kitingas where grey. But i don't remember a grey Vorcha. But that really doesent mean anything. :lol:

Personally, I think the best lookin vorcha would be a hot pink one with daisies painted on it.  I wonder if i could get one of the guys in the modelling forum to do that for me...
Or even better, have it replace the stock in all the dynaverse servers???

You would destroy half the Klingon Fleet with that mod. Half the ships would self destruct and the rest would shoot at the ones that didn't!

Hmm, I have the episodes, I just have to watch them.  The first was the one with Erin Grey, where she is acting as the Klingon who knows Worf (in more ways then one) and brings their son with her.

I'll have to check if they were a different color by the Klingon Civil war or not...

But I'm not certain which is why I'd have to go back and check on the colors.

Close.

In the Next Generation, they were that light green/bluish color (The Vor'Cha didn't even appear until the third or fourth season anyway).  I've heard this was intentional to show the tech sharing between the Klingon Empire and the Federation, not sure if this was true.  It wasn't until Deep Space Nine, with the Way of the Warrior, Klingon ships were given a better color ;)

Not a huge difference between the two, but you can notice a few color changes.

to be honest, they probably went from the Star Trek Encyclopedia for the coloring on those things.  The pic of the Ambassador really does have that much blue in it, but they are reeeally wrong on the Jem'Hadar fighter.  Yuck is too weak lol

I seem to remember back in the 80's when I bought a Klingon battle cruiser, the modeling company that manufactured it had cast the plastic in a blue hue. This could be a model from the same company as the models went through several modeling manufacturers like ERTL and others... Different manufacturing specs and color schemes for the same ship types, go figure...
