Ah yes......I remember it well.

My first server was CW4 - when the Klingon empire was making a big-time push for Ghdar.  The Gorn ended up with starbases in every hex around the homeworld just to keep those Klingon bastichs off it.   Even with that, the Mirak had to come take one starbase back for us.   What an introduction!!   :o

My first PvP, me in some Gorn cruiser vs SunTsu in a D5D.  I thought, 'ok, time to show this guy the Gorn anchor', what I got shown was the drone drag.   He performed it perfectly.   It didn't help I was flying most my missions in F3 view.  I was like, 'damn, that's a lot of drones, HEY, where did those come from, HOLY SH*T.    Wow, what a newb I was.   I had played SFB with all my friends for years, but it didn't help me in a live fight.

Since then I've gotten a tad better  ;D (maybe) and the Gorn GDT squad has split up (Scippy and I being the last two Gorn members).  Chuut went off to fly Mirak, the other two members don't play any more.  Well, Scipio and I did take over the Confederate offices.   ;D

Ah yes, the good 'ole days.

IDSL:  Me in I-CCY against Chuut in Z-MDC. He ran out of drones and went away.

I was confused when he said: "I will stay out of this hex for a while."

Gee, he's pretty cool Kzin Kat.  8)

Even before the disengage rule, some of us would fly by its standards anyway as the patrol bug made anything else unfair in my opinion.

My first PvP kill was during Storm Season I (CW6), during the defense of PinkyGen.  I managed to chase down Matsukasi in my NVS right at the border and got him with an SP.  Of course, about three missions later I had my first PvP death at the hands of Steel Claw, who pomptly avenged Mat by schooling me in nothing flat.  ;D

I must have got killed 50 time on GSA be for I kill some poor fish. When i move over to Dynaverse on the old Red Alert server I got NRS LordDark me in a C7V him in a BCF. I remember starting the mission say ol crap a BCF LD said ya you better run about 2 min later he was dead. ;) I killed a lot of Feds on that server all but one. Thought I was really good intill Dogmatix brought me over to the CW camp and introduced me to the Feds over there. :smackhead:

First Dyna PvP was on an IPEast, I was in a Hydran Crusader, Lord Someoneoranother, (not one of the current Lords), was in a B10, I ran, I got drafted and ran again, I thought I was  saving the man the trouble of blowing me up and wasting his time. It was with some shock that i found him bad mouthing me on chat, as a n00b, I had no idea what the patrol bug was. I learned.

First proper fight was on UO (Unversity of Oregon server), a KBFer in a D5 showed my CM the error of my ways.

First Victory was against the same KBFer a day late, both still in the same ships.

I can't say that I remember the first Dynaverse battle I took part in but there was a memorable series of them very early on.  This was before the "Patrol bug" was discovered.

On one of the earliest EAW Dynaverses there was an afternoon that I spent in my K-D7L fighting a series of holding battles against a Fed in a BCH who was trying to take over an isolated Klingon base well away from the main Klingon/Federation border. Battle after battle one of us would be driven to retreat for repairs but never could either of us decisively defeat or destroy the other.   It was one fun series of battles.  I'm sure both of us were burning prestige like there was no tomorrow on the repairs and resupply.
