OK, this quality bit of 80's entertainment was on TV this afternoon and it got me thinking... Has anyone ever built a "Gunstar", either in hi-res 3D or lower poly thats adaptable for use in SFC....

Any suggestions.....?  :D :D :D :D

Good point and I thank you greatly for the compliment... I have considered that but I'm incredible impatient when it comes to these things and it takes me ages to do anything constructive.. plus, at the moment I'm focusing on the Rom ship I'm doing though now the Chandley is permanently on hold (pending a saucer rebuild) it could be fun throwing one together... ok, excuses over with..  :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[

I think the main reason for me not tackling it is the relatively scant source material available..... ok, ok thats another excuse but you must admit there aren't that many sites around dedicated to it...

Maybe in the new year then..... but in the meantime, it would still make a great "Heavy Fighter" if someone's already made one....  ;D ;D ;D ;D

I may be in possession of a Starfighter model made for Homeworld, but I have no idea who made it and what their policy would be on conversion to other games...  I shall try and research this and see what the situation is...

 :rwoot: :rwoot:  Man, that Lego Gunstar is excellent!  I always thought that a Gunstar vs. an Imperial Star Destroyer would be interesting...

woo hoo... this is great stuff!!!!  I did find (very late last night) that Meshweaver had done one in lightwave.  He hasn't completed it though and the poly count rules out a straight conversion to SFC.  That Lego version is bloody fantastic by the way, want one of them....  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

see if you can find rick sternbach's homepage (the guy who designed voyager) he also made the gunstar, and had some images on his site. I think he rotates or changes the material now and then so they may or may not still be there. I have the link saved but I'm sure it gets enough hits to make it an easy google find. Probably faster than I could find it in this mess called my favorites folder... ::)

Well how about that... I never knew that..... :o :o :o :o  He often frequents the "Trek BBS" so i might be able to catch him on there if there's nothing on his site...
