As if we didn't already know it... ;D Bout time some of our stuff is recognized...but maybe now we'll have a harder time getting in to get schematics... :-\ ;D

Hey that's pretty cool indeed. Congrats to the data base. Maybe now Paramount will pay attention to what the fans are thinking. LOL who am I kidding. :P

To be fair StarshipSchematics is f'ing annoying to find something decent, I mean I understand the guy wanted to catalogue EVERYTHING but most of the 'designs' are sh*tty fan kitbash über-ships check out this wondrous piece of artistic magnificence:

not exactly über but idiotic nonetheless.

Well, you know what they say: "Taste is a matter of...taste." ;D But I have to agree with you, that was an aweful, er, umm, "design."

there are certain questions that should not be posed merely because of the stupidity of its basis and thus its answer.

We have many questions about unsightly vessel design, and although the process has altered our consciousness, we remain irrevocably human. Ergo, some of the answers we will understand, and some of them we will not. Concordantly, while our first question may be the most pertinent, we may or may not realize it is also the most irrelevant.

I have no idea why that popped into my head.  ;D

...agreed... That really really sucks... Which kinda sums up the main problem I have with the site.  Whilst the "Yamato" section is pretty cool, a good portion of the Trek section consists of pretty cr*p looking ships..  Now I agree that one man's supermodel is another's superminger but the site does illustrate two of the MOST annoying parts of Star Trek fandom.  The first is cr*p (or just plain lazy) "designing" and the second is calling every other ship a "Super Heavy Tactical Bombardment Ultra Mega Deep Penetrating Time Battleship" or something equally tedious....  :D :D :D :D

Ok, rant over... Besides, I have it bookmarked anyway, though more to avoid typing "schematics" everytime I want to go visit it...  :D

I agree with some of the above. Half the stuff there is utter garbage. Honestly ASDBJ, ex-astris, and Jack payne are a far better source of work when it comes to fan designs that are something other than 3d models. (IE real models or drawings). Notice how none of those designs are on the schematic database...they'd make themselves look bad if they added them lol

Good and invaluable source for mastercom/jackills/fasa stuff there though, for those of us who crave the books but cant get em ;)

But i got to admit, there is some seriously bad stuff there too.

... good point... I withdraw my poorly chosen words unreservedly... I can see how bad it reads... Besides which, I'm no Michaelangelo meself...
