SDF1 Macross WIP

i know there are a few anime fans here and what better christmas present can i think of than the best anime ship ever designed so here it begins at about 20% complete. my plans are do make the SDF1 in both versions, ship form and battleoid form, and as detailed as possible with out get to high a poly count. this is the ship that i learned how to model for i have always wanted this ship in my fleet.

A good start wulf, but one small suggestion that makes wonders, do only half of her (on the longitudinal axis), map her, and the symmetry the mesh, this way, you'll have twice the tex detail with using even smaller maps than ya normally would (*hint* look at my Aphelion WIP thread, her saucer, ID and sec hull textures are 1024x1024, and the rest are 512x512, and see what kind of detail ya get with that technique)
Easy is the path to wisdom for those not blinded by themselves.

that pretty much what i have been doing only meshing half and mirroring it to get the full effect the only thing that is not mirrored is the center hull i still need to find a good pic of the leg since it is hidden by the prometheous in the one that i am using. as for texturing *sigh* i still have alot of trouble doing those i just cant seem to understand PS at all but since most of the SDF1 is blocks i think i may beable to work with it some

Mirroring is bad, it reverses the normals, very very bad thing to do.
