Kitumba
« on: December 17, 2004, 09:47:22 pm »
During the 70s, as many know, Star Trek was going to come back as a new series.  This Star Trek: Phase II was eventually abandoned and instead made into Star Trek: The Motion Picture.  But some scripts were planned for this new series.  One was an ambitious two-parter that would take a look into the culture of the Klingon Empire called "Kitumba".  This first look has similarities to the Next Generation, but differences as well.

The Klingon empire has a spiritual leader, known as the Kitumba, who, in theory, rules the empire (the current one, iirc, is a young boy).  Unfortunately, the empire is actually ruled by a warlord, named Malkthon, in the name of their spiritual leader.  He plans to invade the Federation and has built a massive fleet of 100 ships at the sacred planet, and another 1000 at the nearby system of Ultair.

Anyway, to get to the point of this thread, I thought it would be cool to represent the massive Klingon fleet.  Since its TMP time period, it will obviously use TMP-era ships.  I'm no expert at making an image like this, but I hope you enjoy it :)

Most Sweet!
All truth passes through three stages: First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being obvious.

This is from somewhere near the end of the story.

The Enterprise has the Kitumba onboard, but the Klingons are not responding to any attempts at communication.  Kirk orders Scotty to warp into the Klingon fleet.  While at warp, the Kitumba will be beamed onto the flagship, where he will order a ceasefire.  This will have to be immediately, because shields will be down for the transport.
