Seems to be true that it is not all that. I remember when I was stationed at Ft. Belvoir they did a study and interviews of people that had won the MD and VA lotteries over the past 10 years (1993 was when I read it in the paper). The findings were not good, most wish they had never won, and over 50 percent were either dead or in worse shape physically and mentally (I might add financial messes) than when they had won.

Seems the Lord put us here not to have palaces of gold but for a higher purpose than that.

I don't see how it could affect your physical health. I mean, you just have to be smart. There's no reason for you to keep 50 million dollars. Put enough away to life your life comfortably while you work, spread the rest around. That's what I'd do.

Weird.

But tell me, can you heal what father's done?
Or fix this hole in a mother's son?
Can you heal the broken worlds within?
Can you strip away so we may start again?
Tell me, can you heal what father's done?
Or cut this rope and let us run?
Just when all seems fine, and I'm pain free, you jab another pin,
Jab another pin in me

People dont know how to handle that much money... that's why they get all bent out of shape over it.

If you want to stay sane, your best bet is to give as much away to family and friends as you can, use a sane amount to set up a fixed yearly income for yourself, prepare for your kid's college and secure a good retirement...

and then forget that you ever won the lotto. Keep working. Don't become a 'rich person.
Everything I did in my life that was worthwhile I caught hell for. - Earl Warron

The advantages of living in the Heart of Dixie- low cost of living, peace and quiet and a conservative majority. For some reason I think that the first two items have a lot to do with the presence of the last one.
