Requesting ISC pilots check in and state intent...
« on: December 09, 2004, 09:15:40 am »
If you still have access to the ISC forum on bozobits / SFC2Net, could you please poke in there and at least say Hi?

I don't think a single ISC pilot outside of Blade and myself has posted in there for at least 6 months... :(

We need some idea of who among the "regulars" are available for some of the currently planned pacifications... :)

And this from someone who started out as a Noble Romulan...  ;)

Let's see.  Yep, you seem to have fallen farther, while Chuut there actually did a bit of climbing... :D  From GDA to KAT to ISC... Although ISC and KAT are both quite noble... :)

Well, I'm shocked!  I knew that your skills had grown so lethargic that you needed a "D"-cell enhancement on your "PP".  But I thought my fellow Bruce still had a bit more activity left in him.

It's a sad day for all the Bruces.  We'll hoist one in both of your memories, since you'll be doing the prune juice thing from now on.

Three sides
The Good - Feds, Mirdan/hydraki (Hydran/mirak split shiplist) Gorn I think if anyone's actually planning to fly them

The Bad -Klinks (sharing sl with Lyrans) and Roms

The Ugly -ISC , and well, no one else cuz they're ugly.

hey speaking of ugly (and if I'm lucky starting a controversy) are Cav3 fighters being used by the ISC?

I see what you and DH are saying, Bear, and I am closely watching ISC player number to make sure they wont get too numerous to unbalance the server. I may just have to call it when I feel the numbers are where they need to be. Right now, there are still a few spots left for ISC players to play it.

But this has been a long time in coming. The ISC have been passed over so many times in past servers players are dying to get their hands on PPD.

Oh shameful possessor of blended scotch, how can you make such false accusations.  Has that wedding ring cut off the blood flow to your brain?  I know Blade to be a lover of true singlemalt, which we will be hoisting when your ship, the Cutty Sark, is pacified.

I'm sure you will have Kroma supplying plenty of "Bruce Juice" for your troops.  But we prefer a nice Islay or some high quality Tequilla.

I'm sure it will be fun flying the fine ships of the ISC navy, be happy with the Gorn BF, Kroma endorses it I've heard......

well so far 3 hydran,1 fed,0 mirak, and 1 gorn hell looks balanced to me.

Can't really trust posts to determine sides.  So I'm sure the numbers will change.

I'll fly Mirak, rather then see the Kzin go with no players.

And Blade was worried...  <chortle>
well he does have Nail as a potential wingman....... ;D

The only reason Nail went ISC is beacuse the Klinks arnt giving him any more Dreads cuz he keeps getting them killed. So pretty soon, Blade's ranks will be filled with misfits and outcasts like Nail ;)... And corbo thinks Blade is worried just about numbers. HAH!

Does this mean you are flying ISC too Dizzy?[/size]

Julin everyone is hanging out on Dynaverse.Net instead of the other forum looks like to me.  That's probably why there are not many post at the other site.  Why are we still using the Bozo site?  Can we set up some sort of Coalition and Alliance officers club in Dynaverse.net so people that just want to Dyna instead of having to go to the "race hugger" site like Bozobits?

Actually, Tomolock, bozobits still gets a lot of use besides the officer's clubs.  There are a number of fleet forums there (including my own), several development forums, as well as the different race forums.  Of course Bozobits doesn't get the traffic that Dnet does, just as it never had the traffic that the old Taldren boards did.  Dnet is our main hangout, just as Taldren was, and Bozobits is our campaign hangout, you could say, as well as the home forums of several fleets.  I'm not sure of the "why" of your bias against Bozobits ("race hugger" site???), but in my estimation it has been an invaluable tool over the years, and to just dismiss it out of hand I think is a bit short sighted.  As to people who "just want to Dyna", I think that if they are not involved in their particular race, getting to know their teammates, etc, that they are missing out on a huge part of why this game is still so much fun, i.e. the Community.  Please don't think that I am coming down on you, I'm just disagreeing with your assesment.

Tomolock... I use that bozobits for campaign planning and thats about  it. Most dyna peeps use that for campaign planning, in fact I dont know of any other.

Something curious... The coalition always uses Ventrillo and the alliance uses TeamSpeak for voicecomms. I guess you could say we are creatures of habit. ;)

Julin  - try IM'ing ISC-Phaser or just posting in the PBR Arena on this forum.  Phaser's said a couple times in the past that he'd play a D2 server if he found one that let ISC fly on it.  And his 'Fleet' has a pretty robust roster...

Heya Kehakoul, glad to have ya with us.  Make sure you run on over to sfc2.net ( http://bozobits.com/forums/ ) and apply for access to the Allliance Officer's Club (usergroup Alliance); it's where we do all our strategizin' and whatnot.  How to do so is explained in this tread here.  Bach will get you access within a day or two.

One race to rule them all, One race to find them. One race to pacify them all and in the ISC bind them. :P

They are kinda cool. :D

Is anyone not flying ISC? Geez!

LMAO

so far I count only a few pilots going ISC for this one beyond the ISC regulars

Mirak 2
Klingon 4
Rom 2
Hydran 1
Gorn 2

At this rate I'd have to say a couple things

#1 where are the fed contributions

#2 where are the Lyran contributions?  Ok pig we want ya, the alternative is frightening

#3  any talk of "everyone going ISC is pure paranoia and unjustified by the numbers.

So in closing STFU anyone saying too many ISC pilots, get your own recruitment post up instead of bashing a minority group....... ;D

Phaser:

Rules for the campaign are currently in the Announcement Thread, downloads for this campaign will be released shortly before it's start date in a couple of weeks.

Did you see my post with the link to the bozobits forum down in the PBR thread?  Get the guys in the ISC forum over there so we can start coordinating and planning...

I'd ask Dizzy (campaign administrator) about the potential size of the download, and if you should have other things (like OP+3.4) first...

Welcoime to the D2... :D

Phaser, be great to have you guys! You are all welcome to fly any race.

Most of the info atm is at that link Julin provided. The SGO website will be up soon with more info.

The D/L will HOPEFULLY be under 10MB. I say this because every race has SFB fighters and PF's and we are using new folders to split up the models for them so you can visually recognize regular and heavy ftrs and PF's in mission. There will likely also be a lmodels D/L version with choice models recommended for DSL and Cable subscribers.

The D/L uses an installer that will setup everything in a seperate folder just as OPPlus does. That way it doesnt mess with any of your files except the shiplist ftrlist and strings all of which are in the OPPLus folder. You can just swap back and forth those 3x to switch between dyna and GSA mode.

Aside from our D/L, you will need to first have the latest patch and FS's OPPlus or Pestalence's OP Enhancement package which also contains FS's OPPlus. Thats about it.
