Question For Exp users of Max
« on: December 06, 2004, 05:55:41 pm »
The Slice tool seems a little harsh..... is there a way to tell it to slice a curve instead of a straight line? ???

Thanks in advance  ;D

um...you could try shapemerging it.

.... or you can extrude a curve, that way you can pick the curve shape you want.... the only problem with that is that you then have to rely on a boolean operation to actually slice it and results can be mixed with booleans...

actually I dunno why I'm replying to this, I'm hardly an experienced user...  :D :D :D :D

I think it would be better if you uploaded a picture of what you are talking about...i need visuals to help describe and understand things.

Thanks guys  ;D

I decided to slice then move the vertices afterword to form a  curve :D   Mutch cleaner than a boolean  :)

I would do a shape merge.  just draw a spline overtop in the shape you wan then use a shapemerge to combine them.
