No Help for the New PC users...

Well it seems Comcast and their great wisdom have decided to fire half the cast and crew of The Screensavers and TSS wasn't the only show to be affected, they did the same to many other old Tech TV shows.

As I'm sure many of you have heard, we lost Alex, Dan, Yoshi, and several behind the scene producers? I know you all have tons of questions, and I don't know much at this point. I've been told there are going to be more darktips, and that the show will still have a tech focus. That's about it. The new show will continue after the Thanksgiving break. I'll keep you posted as more develops - it's time to go drink.

    Kevin Rose

I loved this show I would get a hold of it every day, but ever since the merge with Tech TV and g4 it did go down hill! Its seems they want to go for a different feel for the show; my guess is it will suck big time!

I was also just getting use to Alex, at first I thought here we go! But he was actually a good host, he made me laugh plenty of times! Gonna miss you all!

Why do good shows never last! Comcast as Expletive *  removed By Stephen* They have no idea what a good show is! I hope they burn in hell?

Here is what the other Tech TV cast had to say

I'm sure that comcast did an exhaustive cost analysis and decided that these shows simply didn't make them enough profit (to be read as it wasn't a grand slam money maker, so they wanted it gone>
This is what happens when you allow the market to be run by monopolistic giants likw this.

Personally I didn't think the show was all that great, not like it used to be when it first started.  The whole channel seems to be all about game reviews now, or at least game reviews and a little hardware reviews mixed in.  If I want to find a product review I looking to the Internet and not wait for some TV show or computer magazine to write a review.  Tech TV needs to get back to basics with market trends, policy debates like the DRM and DMCA issues, and hard core tech help to balance out what they are showing now.  Until then I'll keep doing what I have been doing by turning to that channel when absolutely nothing else is on.

Loved to watch this show a few years back, even got my mom into watching it to try to help her understand basics. But COMCAST pulled it from our lineup a couple of years ago, gained some crap like HGTV. Hundreeds of channels and nothing on. >:(

Which explains why I havn't watched "TechTV" since G4 bought it.... used to be a daily viewer but the way they treated the staff when they came in completely put me off.

Stephen does a Double Take... The Sea? The Sea is posting here again? Outstanding indeed.

How long has theSea not been around then?  I've heard the name before, but am having difficulty placing it specifically.

Just so the younger people know there was life Before Pc's.

Memory was something you lost with age.

An application was something for employment.

A program was a TV show.

A cursor used profanity.

A keyboard was a piano.

A web was a spider's home.

A virus was the flu.

A CD was a bank account.

A hard drive was a long trip on the road.

A mouse pad was where a mouse lived.

And if you had a 3 1/2 inch floppy...

...you just hoped nobody found out!
