...router? I have a linksys wireless-B 2.4ghz router. Any information on this would be greatly appreciated. Also FYI, I know Kroma put this up a while ago, but the pic format he put it in will NOT show up on my machine, I just get the empty box with the little box in the upper left corner with the red X and no amount of clicking "show picture" will make it show anything.

Alrighty then, I got my DSL but apparently no one here knows how to set up what I need. Ive got my pc hooked directly to the dsl modem (cant get the linksys wireless router to accept programming) and I still get a FIREWALL error on trying to log into OP. I know OP is setup right as I have been playing it on dialup.

Now my dialup is gone (Sprint turned second line off) so i cant play SFC until/unless I find out how to configure this sheet.

Oh well, Eve works.

I have a different, and much simplier, router then you do AJ.  However the post below seemed to have a considerable amount of info on port settings.

Thanks Green, appreciate it. But Im still at this point just trying to get on via a direct connection to the dsl modem, no router. NOTHING has changed since I was playing GW4 on dialup except the new modem. I have Zonealarm firewall, but SFC is obviously already cleared for play with it. Im stumped.

Ok more information is needed.

Who is providing your internet service.
What operating system are you using (Windows xp sp2?)
What kind of IP address are you getting? (start run cmd or command.  When a dos window shows up type in ipconfig/all)

If you are using XP make sure the default windows firewall is off.  Start > programs > accessories > system tools > security center  turn the windows firewall off.

You also may have to set up zone alarm to firewall that network connection and re setup the ports.  Firewalls can be connection specific.  In other words, just because it is allowing you to play on your dialup conection, it may not be configured correctly for your DSL connection.

Thanksgiving is a slow day on the forum.  Post more specifics here and we will try to help...

Who is providing your internet service.  Sprint DSL
What operating system are you using (Windows xp sp2?)  Latest version of XP2 with all updates
What kind of IP address are you getting? (start run cmd or command.  When a dos window shows up type in ipconfig/all) Im at work, different connection that at home. Will post that later

Everytime something tries to access the net, zonealarm asks if it is ok. It doesnt ask for anything when I try to logonto dyna

Sorry, was playing the new version of Eve all day.  Nothing better than a FREE expansion.... as opposed to a pay-for stand alone expansion ;)  (granted I am paying a montly fee so its part of the price ;P)
