We here at Dynaverse.Net are proud to announce that we've been given the SFC OP Serverkit Source code and are now actively working on the following aspects of the serverkit. This was one of Taldren's last gifts to the community, and we're honored that we were selected for this project! Our team consists of several long standing community members who you all know and love, as well as the Legendary MagnumMan!
MagnumMan has graciously stepped out of "retirement" and is the "Keeper of the Code". He's brought his Bugzilla DB back on line and he'll be the end / all of the update process. Our OP SQL Dev team will submit all bugs and appropriate fixes to Magnum who will ensure that the changes made are tracked, as well as ensure the integrity of the serverkit. We will, of course, release such documentation as is warranted to provide the community with a "readme" of the fixes in the serverkit. At this time the team is full and we have no need for additional members.
What we're focusing on right now:
1. MySQL implementation : we're basically talking about fully functional MySQL interoperability here. 'Nuff said!
2. Serverkit Performance Improvements: Removing memory leak related bugs, and optimizing the code itself for better performance including possibly updating some of the library's the serverkit utilizes.
3. Database interaction. Currently we're working on some fixes that will allow for more efficient database utilization.
As you can probably guess we'll need the communities help in testing the new rev's as they are developed, so do your part and get on the testing servers when we announce a test! Of course, in the spirit of community, we'll do our best to schedule these test servers when they do not coincide with a major campaign.
The D.Net OP MySQL Dev team are all under NDA's, and MagnumMan is still under a NDA and sub contractor's agreement from when KHOROMAG did the SFC2 EAW bug fixes and serverkit optimizations, so don't try ta bug us! We ain't saying !!!
What we will say is once our teams project goals have been accomplished, we will be releasing the new builds for the ENTIRE community. If the community requests it, we can certainly create a forum for suggestions / comments for the serverkit project, just contact a Moderator or Admin and let them know.
Once again, Dynaverse.Net's continued dream to further the playability of the SFC Series of games brings more content, more FUN. We'd like to thank TALDREN MagnumMan, and the D.Net MySQL Dev Team for volunteering their time on this project.
Regards,
