Yet more SFB R9: Z-DNW, G-DDW, H-DNW
« on: November 03, 2004, 12:27:40 am »
Here are my more recent quick kitbashes I worked on lately..

Taldren style Mirak/Kzinti War Dreadnought (conjectural):
Starting from a Z-CM, the Kzinti doubled the # of warps and bulked up the entire front body of the ship to create something I think would look like this with the Taldren-style ships I am currently using.

Thu11s-Style Gorn Double-Wing Destroyer (Unique prototype only):
In 2264, the Gorns experimented with the idea of adding more firepower to a standard DD. While this design was simple to implement, it had 2 major drawbacks: the ship was power-hungry, and it was succeptible to shock when it fired its plasmas (a killer when looking for a standard design). Eventually, the BDD was chosen over the DDW design.

Thu11s-Style Hydran War Dreadnought:

One of these ships was actually built! (according to SFB, of course). The Hydrans applied a similar upgrade they once used to create their NCAs: instead of just adding and rebuilding a part of the top of the ship, and adding a 3rd warp of course, they do something similar to the underside of the ship as well. This DN can be created from either a CL or a NCA, but the cost is economically high.

Enjoy, as usual..

The Mirak... they all look the same cept for how many and exactly where they missile wings go... hehe. But I D/L them anyway... Hard to ID in combat till they get close, but they do share uniformity, which I like.

The Gorn... is great. I'll use it as a PF tender or an HDW. Nice work there FS. TY.

The Hydran is cool, but on examination, the many warp engines are too distracting to watch while flying round... ;) I'll have to use it as an AI ship, but it's cool too.

Nice 3x pack. Keep it up, ho.

Personally, i like the Taldren-Style Mirak/Kzinti....anything that adds ships to that look is good in my book...

Gorn double wing is a neat, and logical progression that is innovative...good job on there too.

Nothing wrong with the Hydran - i have to dissagree with dizzy, it wouldnt be distracting at all...IMHO.

Good work Firesoul.

Fury, with so many warp engine appendages sticking out all over, you'd be a sure bet to hit a rock in it! It's a death trap! Don't say I didnt warn ya!

Since you're da man when it comes to frieghters.............how about doing this one?

Based on this ship........
http://www.ex-astris-scientia.org/schematics/d5.jpg

The D5 is a Klingon ship type that was easily superior to Enterprise around 2150 and outdated around 2270. There is also a tanker variant, with additional deuterium pods and most likely limited combat readiness.
Known ships
IKS BortaS
IKC Klothos

Thanks for the consideration sir.Keep 'em coming.

Hey MP.. I don't think I'm up to that task.

The reason why I have worked on freighters before is because I kinda want/need them for my mod. No one else is going to do it so I ended up doing the work myself. As it is, I do have my hands full with the very same mod as you can see with the recent models I've shared with others on this board.

I hope you can find a true modelere who's interested in doing this for you..
