Mid-campaign server side adjustments

Can the speed of the campaign be adjusted mid-stream without extensive work for the server admin?

Yes, but it would require that each player increase their relative speed with regard to the server to very near the speed of light.

Smarta$$.

Let me rephrase.  One or more of the server settings dictates how many real minutes per turn for purposes of incrementing the game year and thus running the shipyard and such.  Is it possible to change that setting mid-server to "slow down the years" without doing much?

Yes.

Take down the server, change the gf setting for seconds per year with notepad or any other text editor, and then restart the server.  Your years then pass at the new rate.

I do this routinely when cleaning the DB, as it allows all auctions to close before removing ownerless ships from the DB.
