NTL makes 1Mbps minimum broadband speed

NTL has announced a radical overhaul of its cable broadband services, with 1Mbps the minimum speed available.
The connection will cost £17.99 per month - cheaper than many 512Kbps packages - and 2Mbps and 3Mbps connections will also be available at highly-competitive prices of £24.99 and £37.99 respectively.

Around a third of NTL's 3.1 million customers have taken up broadband, but this can safely be expected to rise. NTL cable is available to around 7.9 million UK homes.

Existing customers will have the option to retain slower connections or upgrade in the New Year for a onew-off fee of £25.

No press releases on NTL's site about this yet (that I could see), but this is great news.  For £25 one-off fee I'll get an extra 1,250kps connection.   ;D ;D ;D

Nice christmas prezzie
