WTF!? This is by Atolm, Thu11s isn't mentioned anywhere in his post and Thu11s don't even do SFB era stuff he does TMP era SFB inspired stuff.

Looks cool Atolm, though I think the bird feathers on the wing are a bit too close to those on the B'rel, otherwise a brilliant interpretation of what could have been a cool race.

Misread the post, guys... don't get too upset. A 40 hour a week job and 12 semester hours of college often fry one's brain in that way.

I never thought a SFB ship could look so good.

But, seriously, it's beautiful in a kind of passenger civilian vehicle way rather than that of a warship!

lol...actually the wing design on the ship looks more like a fish fin than the Klingon BoP pattern...its in a similar styling as this ship is for multiple eras :)

As stated, these are Azel's, not Thu11s'. Honest mistake, though. This is a TMP interpretation of the SFB designs.

Because all of their weapons are in SFC, I figured that they'd be a good addition to the game and have added them to GaWtm. On a lot of the added races I had to interpret and adapt systems in the game (which sucks! Hopefully we'll have the source code soon and can do it right.). They plug right in and are different enough to add some depth, tactically. They use Plasma and drones as their heavy weapons with a lighter phaser suite than most other races. Their main phaser weapon is the P2 instead of the P1. Although they do have P1s, just to a lesser degree. Kinda like K refit Klingons.

J Carney was kind enough to do the specs for the shiplist for the mod. Now, Azel has offered to add his contribution and make the models. (Yeah Azel 8)) I'm really gratefull to the both of them for their help and this model has me stoked to see the rest of the fleet.

P.S. So, Marauth... Any more LDR retextures on the horizon? ;)

I have the PSDs of Thu11s' last batch of Lyrans, it's just a matter of finding the time, I also finally did up variant textures for those really odd Tiger variants Thu11s did but I don't botherwith different hull designs as the LDR ships aren't named after cats so they all look pretty much the same. Oh plus I have done a retexture for the WYN conversion of the Leopard so that should eb included when I email Thu11s next.

Are you guys including the Vudar in GaWtm? They're a rather cool race and they actually exist - the Peladine are cool but they're only 'conjectural' i.e. they were conquered by the LSE before the timeline starts, and before they have these cool ships.

The Vudar didn't make the mod- ADB has't released the Vudar module yet. It is slated for some time in 2005. So there were only 2 official ships (the DD and the DW) for the Vudar when Rod started specing Galaxies at War.

If you mean the ship at the top then it's a Peladine, they're one of the obscure SFB races who were conquered in the Early Years (a bit before TOS era) by the Lyrans, the Lyrans use conjectural Peladine ships in their simulators to train new captains because they have rather odd tactics compared to the other races, i.e. lots of heavy weapons - plasmas and drones - and comparatively weak primary weapons (phasers).

The Peladine Republic

by Jessica Orsini

http://www.peladine.com/

Here is the link... it's a well written 'simulator race' for the Lyrans based on a barley warp-capable civilization that they conquered. Mrs. Orsini originally designed only basic FF,DD, CL, CA, and CV hulls. It eventually took on a life of it's own and a whole fleet was developed. ADB has even published her stuff as semi-official material, even though the ships that ADB hasn't published are still available for free on the web.

Dude, those are AWESOME!!!

I mean, the BB is supposed to be single-hull according to the SSD, but after seeing your model I have only one thing to say...

Maybe the SSD should be changed!

Hurry up with the little POL ;D ... it has a special place in my game.

All the Pleadine Military Police ships are named after MP companies that served in Iraq. Most are Alabama National Guard units, but I think that the 118th MP BN from Rhode Island got a nod in there, too (they were our batallion for the better part of the war).

I gotta put our unit patch on that POL model when you finish her. ;)

Very cool of you to make this, Tus. Can't wait to see it textured and get it into the game. Thanks for doing it. Of course, thanks tons to Atolm for taking all these ships on for me. The man's a hero. :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

Once I get them all hard pointed I'll show some battle screenies.

Anyone tell me what these guys/race are? What's to know about them? Are these ships powerful, comparatively? These are a TOS series, right?

Hey Rev,
The Peladine are a race from SFB that were created by Jessica Orsini. There's a pretty extensive web site for them here ->Peladine Home Page

Their main heavy weapons are Plasma w/drones as secondaries. Phaser suite is a combination of P1 and P2, with an emphasise on the P2. Much like K-refit Klingons. One of their hidden strengths is they have large shuttle bays. They're the only race who's fighters can rival the Feds. They have both plasma and drone based fighters. You can read their history on the home page above.

The models are really starting to come together now for GaWtm. Hopefully it won't be much longer now. :drink:

This is the most detailed simulator race, with 47 ships but only 5.5 pages of new rules. The FRAX are a disruptor- and drone-using race based on the modern Navy. Their main ships have disruptors split in FX and RX arcs, plus they have cloaked `submarine' class ships. Their primary ships use only standard rules, but they have variants armed with new weapons: including the Axion torpedo (a direct-fire weapon which can be fired while cloaked) and the Catfish drone (a cloaked drone).

The first pic: The white ship viewed ster-on is a Frax ship. This is the best OFFICIAL pic of any Frax ship.

The second pic: This was taken from a BattleTech website- but I think if you look at the ship shown and the Module C4 picture and the SSD, you will see that this reflects how a TMP-style Frax ship might look.

The third pic: A Frax SSD

While all races in SFB can move in forward or reverse, the Triaxians can "rotate their warp field" in 120 degree incriments (dividing the 360 degrees of a circle into thirds, thus the name Triaxians) and make the #1, #3, or #5 shield facing the "front" of the ship. So, they can move forwards or backwards in any of the three facings. Their weapons (plasma) arcs reflect this ability by being divided up on these three shield arcs.

Here's a Triaxian SSD. The plasma A is an S-torp that has the ability to be configured as a more powerfull, but shorter range torp or weaker, but longer range torp.

OK. Just got Photo Shop and I'm not real good at this, yet. Here's a pic though of some (about 1/2) of the fleet. I'll keep working at getting something better. This'll give you an idea though. Remember that they are designed to fly equally as well in 3 directions, not just 1. That should help you understand the designs. ;D

And, like it's been mentioned before, once th source code is available, the sky's the limit.

Azel sir, you rule !!!!!!!!!!!! There's no end to your talents , awhile back you had designed a few future Romies and Borg  may we be seeing their release anytime soon ? And if you have any blank ships in needs of textures just let me know. I'm still learning , but the more stuff I do,the better I'll get.

Hey MP, I've got some Azel meshes that need textures.  How do you feel about Gorns? ;D

Sure I'd love to give it a go. I can't map yet ,but if there's a set of junk textures on them. I'll be happy to try my hand at them.

Uh the future Romulans...I think you mean the 32nd century stuff right???
Aye I'll get them to you...the Legacy-Class USS Enterprise Z, the 32nd Century Borg Phalanx, and the 32nd Romulan warbird
I may redo the textures on the Borg...but I haven't decided

Nope. Sorry, they're as naked as a newborn babe. ;) I'd really like to get them textured though, if someone wanted to give it a go. Please? :ufo:

MP Joker has an excellent tut on mapping.... a video one too... go to his site and dl it... you'll be mapping in no time... then learn the other ways of doing it as the method he uses in the tut is good but not the best for all situations ;D

Rod O'neal Is spec-ing all those ships...dunno about break-mods though... ::)
As for TMP Gorn...that Sounds interesting...I'll Give it some thought...but currently I am swamped with some other projects (the "Ring-Ship" Enterprise
and an Atolm version...plus some Iosian ships...I figure that the Isosians would be TOS to Phase 2 style ships when the Feds are flying TNG stuff) and "real life"
