I have not lately, and he is a Bill Nuy "The Science Guy" if there ever was one. I have some questions for him.

Where ya been? What is going on in your life?

What's your opinion of these solar roof electricity generators or even solar water heaters?

Been good, thx Jack.

I've been a bit preoccupied of late. I'm changing jobs.

Solar power and heaters?
I don't really know enough to have an opinion.
My S. Ca home had a disconnected solar water heater on the roof when I bought it. Seems that for most people, maintaining such systems was more grief than the resulting energy savings.

I suspect the same (or more so) for solar power. Big upfront cost with long time to break-even.

Also, as you know, I am a BIG believer in recycling, the Mexicans have not caught on to the benefits YET, heck they dump used oil into the desert! Plastic coke bottles EVERYWHERE!

Aluminum can crushers, I did a LOT of research, best I can find is a 3:1 ratio, I want much more than that without having to build a furnace machine to melt it down. You know of anything besides a press or melting it down (poisonous fumes can kill, as the Brits learned when one of their aluminum DDs got slammed by the Argentinians and an anti ship missile during the Falklands war) that can give me a better ratio?

Dept. of Homeland Defense guys and I had a great conversation in El Paso International, they think it's a GREAT investment idea.

Here is the story of Austin's recycling

I hear ya, on I-10 in the middle of the desert is a stretch of 15 miles long (don't know how wide) wind turbines. They have em for home use too with emergency switch to conventional electricity should there be no wind. Trouble is they run about 30,000 a pop (home ones, NOT the BIG windmill turbines). It could be a good investment if your electric bill is 300 a month plus during off season weather, and I remember one time my stepdaddy had almost a $1,000 electric bill for his house one time! Be nice if they could get those home suckers down to the 10-15k range, probably make some really good sales, especially since by federal law excess electricity HAS to be bought by the power company at market price!  ;)
