Rebooted 'er and tested a login ok. Let me know if this happens again and I'll shorten the missionlist a bit to see if it helps.

Sorry bout that, decided to move the MySQL test server to my server temporarily. SFB-OP will be back up as soon as this test is complete.  ;D

I got hit with another power outage over the weekend. Server will be down for another few days - I'm going to take this opportunity to upgrade and update it. (and get some time in on WCH!)

Ok, ok, lol, it should be back up for now. (time warped back to last backup again... gotta do something about this power situation...). I'll be taking it down tomorrow for that upgrade anyway.

Ugh, that "time warp" took away at least a good weeks worth of work.  :(
I hope when you do your updates, you'll just reset the map as well.
Especially since the roster's already been cleared.

Sorry bout that Krueg, this power outage business is pissing me off good... only problem is a UPS to last 8 hours is gonna break the bank...

The roster has not been cleared, perhaps I will just reset it with the update... I will backup the db daily now, promise.

It wasn't? Strange, had 2 different accounts (Klink and Rom), but when I went to sign in, it made me create a new account and start over.
Ah well...spent 5-6 days taking all those hexes back (with other players helping) in Klingon and Romulan space...not worth doing all over again.
Let me know when the map get's reset.

Server will be down for upgrades for a while today.

I'm thinking of resetting as Krueg suggested and tally the current VC's as "Round 1". I need to modify/remove the terrian VCs for a low population server. I think I'll change it to "new territory held"...:

New territory held (at end of server - 2303): 1 per hex, 3 per base, 5 per planet (any territory held on a hex with an enemy on the other layer is worth double!).

which necessitates the converse...

Initial territory lost (at end of server-2303): -1 per hex, -3 per base, -5 per planet.

Any thoughts while I work on the upgrade?

Well, reset sounds good, but, sucks for the Klingons and Roms scorewise. Before the set back to the last save, the klingons had retaken all the hexes in their space, puls a couple xtra, taken out 3 Feds bases and a Hydran base, plus both the planets on the Fed border in the neutral zone. And the Roms had also reclaimed all their original hexes and taken the Mirak planet on the Fed border. And we had just built a nice bridge between Klingon and Romulan space.
The Lyrans had even managed to take all but a couple hexes back in their space.
Figured out why I had to make new characters, it rolled back to a time before I logged on to the server. And I had made Rear Admiral on both Rom and Klink accounts.  :-\
I checked the roster page, noticed a couple other names missing from it as well. Pilots I flew both with and against.
So much lost time...

So much lost time - its terrible - oh the humanity! ;)

The terrain VCs are cancelled. The PvP VCs are still on.  If you still feel you have lost time, for the third time I apologise, but part of the point of the game is to lose time isn't it? If you still feel you have "lost time", there is not much more I can say but sorry.

I'll restate that I'll backup the db daily now.

The upgrade is taking longer that I thought, for the first time I have run into MS's activation feature preventing a sucessful partition copy - weird, never happened to me before... so I'll have to do a full reinstall of the server - pain...

Upgrade complete (figured out my partition copying error - yay!).

Server reset.

SQL db backups every 30 minutes now as a cron job - no more power outage issues... should have taken the time to set this up ages ago, again I aplogise, but it took me most of the evening to figure out how to set it up, glad I figured it out though.

"Round 1" VCs to be tallied shortly (after I finish an experiment).

Any desired changes? - Request em now!
