Last night we found that we were having a whole lot of CTDs. It seemed like every 3rd mission we would CTD.
We were out base busting, myself, Deadmansix and Chuut. At the time we were the only three on the server.

That sounds like an as yet undetected shiplist/model error... which empires bases were you hitting?

Base Assaults mostly, stock and Karnak, but also Deep Space patrols.

as for the ISC DV shifting the wrong way seems to happen with Karnak missions and Stock, Dave's seem to work correctly.

Good to know, thanks.

I know the cause of the ISC issue. Initially I left the ISC at the stock settings of an initial tension of 1000 wrt everyone else. This causes a problem when not using "total war" missions. (Scripts will generate enemies and allied AI, screwing up the DV shift). I am still not clear on how the current tensions are encoded in the political tensiopn matricx blob, the initial tensions are plain as day, but the current tensions make no sense at all, it seems encrypted somehow. I copied another races current political tensions to the ISC so they would be allied with the Roms to avoid the "non- total-war situation. It seems it is not quite right. Perhaps I'll just put it back the way it was and the ISC will have to live with the lack of total-war missions on this server. I might find the energy to make another crack at decoding the current poitical tensions to get the desired result tho...

I have some copies of databases from past servers along with gf files. I'm sure we can decode the political matrix. Can you send me a copy of what you have along with your political matrix settings?

The current political tension matrix is attached to the post above (formatted to be readable). The initial tensions are attached to this post as the metamap.gf (though edited to correspond to the changes I made to the blob). The unformatted blob is also attached.

Well, I just learned that a power failure will completely destroy all data on a MySQL installation running on a unix box.  >:(   I restored the db that was backed up two weeks ago, sorry folks. I promise to back up more frequently, and I'll look into building a UPS.

Hey, Bonk:
I'm intermittently (read: almost always) getting a "Found Bad CRC" error for the following files - kar_meleeaction.scr , kar_skirmishaction.scr ,  met_nwtraining.scr  - when I try to log onto your server during the "Security Check".  A friend of mine with whom I was talking on the phone as he was logging in tonight got the same error with the same files, though it resolved after he rebooted.  No such luck on my end (though I was able to log on once tonight, briefly).  Both my friend and I have the same setup in terms of OP install (using OP Mod Chooser 6.5, to hop between Taldren, OP+, GW4, and SFB-OP).

Just thought you should know.   Thanks for the server and mod in the first place, by the way.

Thanks for the note. That's odd. I haven't tested a login since the power outage (the serverkit has not been rebooted for a week either- maybe it just needs a reboot.) I'll give it a kick and test a login.

Just uninstalled GW4 and OP+, installled SFBOP04 and the missions and tested a login OK. Ran a monster mission, it was a hoot! I got the Juggernaught and a space dragon, it was pretty easy cuz I had a fleet. (film posted and screenshot attached) Thats 10 points for the Gorns!  :woot:

It is a long mission list to validate, if you get an error, perhaps try a refresh on the serverlist and try to login again. Or uninstall and reinstall the missions if you still get an error.

(P.S. just rebooted for OoB, and will again at 4PM ADT today)

You get the missions installer here? (maybe just uninstall and reinstall the missions if you already have)

I've been getting that message since last night Bonk. And I've played on it a few times before. I even unistalled it last night and re-downloaded the missions, thinking you might have changed something. Same message.
Same message today as well.
I thought maybe you did it to encourage people to play on your SQL stock test server instead.  :P

Lol, I'm not that devious, but now that you mention it...

Seriously tho, I'll give it a reboot and install the mod and test a login before the SQL test. But you have to promise to login to the SQL test! :D

I may need to shorten the missionlist, perhaps it is just too long... I'll do that if this happens again.
