Not voting til I get some answers... as previously posted, how long is KCW supposed to run? This is a big issue considering the timetable for house leadership challenges.

Karnak, the SG4 map isnt yet complete. Close, but no banana.

The shiplist isnt yet polished.

The server settings havent been tested...

Etc., etc., etc...

SG4 is going to go after GW4.

Your little ISC pacification thing, that and KCW can go b4 GW4 for all I care, but DAMNIT peeps, get SOME kind of server up thats mainstream!

I cant remember the last time there was a good ISC presence. I cant remember the last time I had a good ISC match... Perhaps it was back on AOTK... That was over a year ago, wasnt it?

Ya shoulda logged onto Squadron Commander!  :P  They had some of the best tools on the map.

-Herr Burt

Heh, put the server back up, I still have the installer!

My OP hasnt been fixed or updated since my HD reformat after GW3. Or something like that. DH helped me out a little bit with some bug crunching advice... 'Format' he said, heh. So I'm still not up and running, although I think I am current with all drivers now...

Thx for the link Bonk. However the problem remains.

Hypothetically, let's say the server runs for 3 weeks. Only 3 leadership challenges can be played. What happens when half a dozen Klingons challenge for leadership? It would be an obvious conflict of interests for the House Leader / RM to select the challengers.

Even if there were an arbitrary method of selecting a limited number of challengers, why should the others be deprived their right to challenge?

Diabolic scheming, treachery, and betrayal are fundamental Klingon traits - even among the race-nerfed TNG Klinks. It's a HUGE oversight to neglect assassination attempts in the context of a Klingon Civil War. So I assume these would have to be treated as additional challenges.

In the spirit of the server theme, I strongly suggest you modify the rules to allow any and all qualified challengers their rightful opportunity.

Thanks for reading this.

Your welcome.- I just don't read anyone threads.

However I have the unfortunate feeling that you're missing the point.
Despite the added ability intended for the server of being able to challenge the house leadership, the primary focus is still fighting the other houses.
Realistically maybe we should have an unlimited number of challenges issued per day, but that's not going to fit really well into everyone's schedule.
I think one challenge /week is sufficent, maybe one challenge every five days but that would be the limit.

3 house leaders, challenges 7 days apart, 3 week server = 9 leadership challenges total. (as I calculate it)
Since a rear admiral rank is required it will be first-come-first-served.
How about this?: challengers in conflict can resolve their right to challenge in their own duels.

I'm pretty much with Hexx, the rules have been finalised, I don't want to get into opening them for debate.
I'm just the technical guy and want to play the dang thing!

OK, testing for another week, then launch it is!

I take no reposibility for the draft.  If one appears, great, otherwise I'll randomise the teams from the draft lists here.

No whining about waiting another week, the people have spoken! ;)   Besides, I'm putting SFP-OP up shortly too!  :multi:

(Sorry Karnak, at least I made a bid for ISC Invasion... lotsa froggies on SFB-OP...)

Sounds good Bonk.

Got a question for anyone though, I thought the DRAFT was done and we were waiting on the TRADES.  Can't we simply use the draft list and by-pass the trades?

Anyone have the draft list?  J'inn, Kroma, Dizzy?  Can it be provided to Bonk?

Yeah, well if we don't get a dyna going next week on 10/27 then  *Arnold voice* I'll be back...muahahahahahahaha!!

This KCW dyna project is in uber-red status.  I want to see daily End-of-Business status reports on the dyna progress including all mitigation actions and ETA to Green status target due dates.  I also want to see all justification for why you need the head-count you have assigned to this project. If they are contractors, I am gonna cut them if they don't perform. Employess will get laterally moved to dead-end projects.  If we have to go get "food for hire" people off the streets to replace these guys then that's we are gonna do.

Ooop!! How did one of my work emails get in this post?! :P :P

This dyna had better be in Green status by 10/27 or I'm sending in security's hatchet-man. :D :D

As one of the house leaders, I find need to comment.

Where were you on the days / weeks that Hooch sought out house leaders?

Comeon, the house leaders haven't had a chance to prove themselves, and you're already basically looking to off one of them... >:(

And if it's me, then I might as well surrender now, and let you finish up the drafting, trading, scheming etc. for House Kinshaya, as I know my Klingon ship-piloting skills are fairly ineffective, especially when placed against a pilot proficient in disruptor use.  For further proof of that statement, please look at my usual race / role, which I intelligently kept prominently displayed underneath that ISC-purple D7 avatar I currently have on display...

TOS-Klingons, from my readings, always put the good of the Empire before personal gain.  I thought the 3 house leaders were the 3 best choices to lead the Empire, otherwise there'd be more houses / combatants seeking the throne...  And I thought all house members were, through the draft process, forced to support the leader they got until that leader is proven ineffective.

Am I really that ineffective, when I haven't even ran 1 mission on the live server yet?  Or issued 1 order?  Wrote 1 battle strategy?  If so, I reference you to the bold-faced question I asked above...

Welcome to the Klingon Empire Julian, to be effective a house leader had to keep everyone in line.  If someone challanged him he just simply put his batleth in thier chest, better sharpen your blade...... ;D

I wasn't around, and it doesn't matter. If it wasn't me it would be somebody else - assuming the Klingon race still lives.

Comeon, the house leaders haven't had a chance to prove themselves, and you're already basically looking to off one of them... >:(

Of course. I'm Klingon. In the event of Civil War, the first duty of any self-respecting Klingon is to TAKE OVER.

If it suits my purposes, I may let you live. As a toady figurehead. Until your inevitable assassination - which will be blamed on the Federation.

And if it's me, then I might as well surrender now

Not a very Klingon attitude. Do us all a favor and slit your wrists - save a bullet.

Klingons, forced to support a leader? You must be joking. Advancement in rank in the Klingon fleet is accomplished only by victory in direct combat or treacherous assassination and mutiny plots. Successful Klingon leadership is accomplished only by supression of these internal machinations.

It's true that Klingons will tend to support leadership that brings them to VICTORY. This remains to be seen. But I wouldn't count on it, or grow complacent.

How about this?: challengers in conflict can resolve their right to challenge in their own duels.

That works for me.
