If you go to war, make sure you move to Texas first!

Just wondering at which state has the best benefits for their war veterans and veterans in general. Texas is hard to beat in that category, we take care of our military vets!  ;)

If you are a vet, please look up your state's benefits, I'm curious as to who gets what and how they feel about it. I love the Texas Veterans Commission. They are always nice and friendly and fast, and we have all kinds of bennies, educational bennies, land loans (this is apart from the VA home loan), small business stuff, and if you are a war veteran you get 4 years of free tuition and books at any TX public university! It's called the Hazlewood Act.

VA has no home loan limit per say, but most banks go at the most (unless you are wealthy) to $240,000, that coupled with the TX veteran's comm. and their land loan, almost half a mil in housing and land money if you got good income or assets to back it up!  :)

When Jerry and I went to El Paso we had to cross the desert on I 10, we saw a stretch of 15 miles worth of electricity producing wind turbines, by FEDERAL LAW power companies HAVE to buy YOUR electricity at market price!  :) Talk about money for nothing! Wonder how much that windy desert land costs nowadays?
