Do you have an earlier version already installed? If not I believe that 3.0 won't launch because it's looking for that earlier version. Just a guess though...

ShipEdit39902b I think...if not it may be the version you're referring to. Also if you need them I think you can get them all versions at staryards.com or Chris Jones Mods.

Maybe you can try installing something else for now. It may not be that the ShipEdit progrmas are the problem.

OK, that's weird...I get the same message when I launch max5...I just click on close and everything works fine...wonder why it's doing for shipedit. Could it be some kind of video setting? :-\

I can think of a way to get it going.. if you have a friend who's running an earlier version of Windows, pop by there with a blank CD and the Shipedit program.  Go up to something like Download.Com or similar and look for a program that'll compare registries before and after an installation.  Do a shot of the registry, then start the install.  Install it to it's default location.  Then after the installer is done, do another shot of the registry and compare the two.  Export the changed items in the registry to a file and save that to the installed program directory.

Then start burning a CD, copying the installed Shipedit directory to the CD (along with the registry additions).  After the files are copied and the CD is closed, uninstall Shipedit from your friends machine, thank them for their time.. and head home.  Then it should be a case of copying the installed Shipedit directory to your HD in the same default location, merging in the changed registry items, and you should be able to fire up Shipedit at that point.  :)
..ooOOoo..totally useless information..ooOOoo..
