Sorta OT: Drivers for OP
« on: October 25, 2004, 11:34:41 am »
Hey guys, I'm still trying to make this happen:

Okay, so SFC: OP STILL isn't working.  :'(

I'm wondering if it is a drivers problem. If memory serves, after installing the game, their is a prompt to install DirectX 7.0 which included with the game.

However, Microsoft.com has the 9.0 version for downmload. Should I do that or reinstall 7.0 when I do another reinstall of SFC OP?

i wouldnt install dx7 i would just go ahead and do the latest direct x 9.0c i think it is. I you install any of the older ones  i understand that  it wont work properly if your playing online with some one who has it. Just make sure when you up date any of your other drivers(video ,sound etc...] to go that companys websight to get them and dont get them from microsoft, I know from first hand experience that the ones they have dont always work properly.
I hope this helps.

Hey Kurok, thanks ofr the advice. I don't plan on playing online anytime soon. I'll just be quite happy when I  can get my game to work period. If I'm only playing single-player, should I still get DirectX 9.0c?

Yes,
The newer versions of DX have support for the older versions with more features added for the newer games that come out. So more than likily it is not the DX version that would be causing the issue if you are using the newest version, after that it is the driver hunt and install.
