Did you get the direct x fix from Activision because you will need that?If you don't it can be found on the EFFHQ site in the SFC3 box on top of the board the link is below my sig.It could be in the utilities aswell with the little ship in the middle at the bottom.

What type of mod did you make up and did you patch over top instead of clean install and said no to direct x and gamespy?

Did you click and disabled your visual themes in compatiltity tab in your SFC3 Icon?These must be done in order for your game to work properly.

You go into your SFC3 Icon and right click and in compatility tap there is a place to where you have to place tick.Then say click ok and this disables your visual themes.Your SFC3 Icon is located in C:programs/Activisin and there will be three but lok for the one that has it in it.It is used as a desk top short cut.Try this and I will be back later Enterprise is about to start and don't spoil it for me.

The SFC3 Icon looks like the delta shield I know there are three of them it is the one the luanches the game.What you want to do is right click on it and look for compatility tab or mode.When you see it there will be check box saying visual themes place a check in it and click ok this will disable your visual themes.I would click on the one that lauches the game and then exit the game then you know you have the right one.Then right click on it and disable your visual themes.I would try to upload a picture of this but I can't.This not that hard to do if I can do so can you.It should say StarFleet Command 3 on it.It looks like the one on Voyager and DS9 the communicator.

You will have to look around a little when you right click on it and look for compatility tab.

This is your SFC3 TNG Taldren Inc. .exe Icon in your Activision folder.You want to right click then click on proberties and click on the compatility tab in there you will see visual themes place a check in it and click ok.I hope this works and sorry for not mentioning the proberties to you.

You didn't select proberties at the bottom click on that and then you will see compatilitity tap at the top.No you aren't annoying me look for proberties after you right click as I stated below.

2. u've done a good clean install
3. ur drivers all upto date
4. ur patched to the v531
5. well the only true thing i can guess is what agp controller version ur using so try this http://www.asus.com/support/download/item.aspx?ModelName=A7N266-VM&Type=Drivers and pick what ur system has.

dont worry about u didnt get him mad. he was worried cause he wasnt able to help. but try this and let me know how it works for u. open ur sfc.ini file in the main folder and find where it says makeitso change the 0 to a 1

from what i can tell something somewhere's got fubard but it doesnt sound like u have the correct bmps for the roms. i hate to say this but u might be better off just doing a clean wipe and reinstall then update to v534b. and dont forget to change in the sfc.ini where it says Makeitso change the 0 to a 1. that is a nocd command for the game. as far as the ships problems thats due to the fact that they r a little high in poly counts. and if u get to many with high poly counts it really boggs the vid card down badly. i would recommend a vid card with atleast 128mb ddr or higher preferably. i would recommend the nvidia geforce fx 5200 card it works great and has 256mb ddr ram memory and for aboutr $125 price isnt bad at all.

I would still and laern how to disable your visual themes as I posted below it is is in your SFC3.exe Icon that launches the game right.When the dialog box opens up at the bottum click on proberties and then check on disable visual themes in your compatility tab.You can do this on any of your desk top Icons just try a few on your desk top first to get a feel for it.I would go and read the 534b thread and read everything what Pestalence has said in there.

XP operates fine with those games and you will have to disable those visual themes in SFC3.

I believe Manitoba suggested a Nvidea as it is the best for SFC3.You could always burn the stuff you want to save to disk.

You can Pick up a Cheap Nvidea card with 128 MB of memory for around $100.00 If you shop Around.

Heck I think even Walmart carries a 256 mb Nvidea asylum for abit more then That.

If you have a PC Club around where your at, Go there, and they can hook you up Pretty fast, I just happen to like that store myself, and have built a number of systems using there parts.
