Galaxies at War Models Needed
« on: October 06, 2004, 02:13:33 pm »
I've spoken to Rod, and the big thing needed for Galaxies at War now are models. A lot of Thu11s great work, and I'm sure some other's talents have already been hardpointed and added. Here is the final empire lineup:

Federation ¦ Klingon ¦ Romulan ¦ Gorn ¦ Lyran ¦ Hydran ¦ Kzinti ¦ ISC ¦ Andromedans ¦ Tholians ¦ Seltorians ¦ Peladines ¦ WYN ¦ LDR ¦ Korgath (Drone Pirates) ¦ Syndicate (Plasma Pirates)

ISC is the empire currently with the least amount of models.

So any of you talented guys who can help out by recommending ships or allowing your works into the mod please step forward, and we will use whatever we can to allow us to match up against the shiplists. Of course credits will be included.. Rod I know has put a lot of work into the mod and I'd like to see it be as much of an expansion from the stock OP as possible. It's TMP era ships we are after, as Desty Nova's ships are being used for a TOS version of the mod. I'm not sure, but I think X-Ships would be nice to see as well.

Also KlingonFanatic, I'm told you have a rather extensive library of models, any chance you could contact me through e-mail, PM or MSN?

Cheers guys,

Stylsy,

;D Hey an update!

The Galaxies at War mod beats its slow but powerful heart. Make no mistake, this mod is coming to invade your SFC: OP game soon.

Like everybody else here, I am anxiously awaiting Thulls' new Lyrans.

I'm guessing that 99% of the stuff I have retextured is online at SFU, Tri-mod yards or SFC3files. ;)

If you are looking for anything more specific let me know. I have two unlit retextured ST: Armada II shipyards ready to go [Klingon shipyard and Romulan turned Lyran shipyard] if we can get somebody to light them.

I've got 27 or so Tholian models over here

I also still have the older SFB accurate ones as well if you want them instead.

Thanks Brezgonne, much appreciated.  The new crystal Thols are pretty cool, IMO. 8)

A couple of questions... I used some of your work from your original Tholian mod as a jump off point for the Tholians in the mod to save some spec work. I did post, but you weren't around at the time to ask about it and I didn't know how to contact you. I hope that you don't mind. Saved having to do the strings, shipnames, etc, from scratch. I planned on crediting your original mod for your work. Also, I'll probably have to redo (renumber etc.) the HPs to get them to line up with the shiplist in order to use the models. Is all of this OK with you?

I don't mind but reding the hardpoints is sort of a waste of time unless you know something I don't. The latest bach of ships are setup to use the gorn UI. I can send you the current shiplist that I have if you want that has as many of the tholian ships as I could remember along with some I made up to fill gaps in eras (something that doesn't need to be done in SFB)

Me know something that you don't? Not very likely. ;)

I used Klingon UI for the shiplist. All that I'll probably need to do is change the numbers, not the actual hardpoints. As far as specs for the shiplist, I've got the specs done barring any changes for play balance (I hope). I'm pretty burnt out on doing specs right now and hopefully won't have to change or add too much. Only time and playing will tell for sure. Although I can use some suggestions for X2 designs to match up with the Taldren X2 ships. If I can ever get the latest beta uploaded to nightsoft (I think that it's a prob on my end, not with nightsoft though) I'll let you know if you'd like to try it to see what I've done.

Thanks for your permission, man. I'm very thankfull.  :notworthy:

Excellent to see support guys, I know I'm not around as much as should.

Check out the website, I updated it with Mariner's new logo and tidied it up.

Cool to hear about the website updates, but I can never get to the site. :(

BTW, I've got some "custom" GAW sig banners in the works for the races right now. I'll post them soon. ;D

I just need pointed to some ISC, Mirak and Hydran Fonts. If anyone has these I'd be very happy. :)

Well, I've got three special edition sgi banners, which should give people a good initiative to support GAW. ;D

First up, the Special Edition "Gold" Banner.

You could always ask thu11s to continue his work on his TMP ISC fleet.

Id hate to say it, but i think something is missing from that banner.

If you are using photoshop, might i recommend at Satin with these stats, it might make it seem more metalic.
