Going through the list of ribbons (hey; I'm bored) it looks like I get:

Bronze Medal of Good Will (25+ Karma)

5 or 6 Platinum Crosses (~120 models released over time)

1x Azure Victory Awards (spread over all the servers I used to play on; I still remember pissing off the 1AF  )

My own idea guys ..   awards are exactly that ....  they are "awarded".

IMHO the awards should be "bestowed" .. that was one of the reasons i mentioned the group of people that I did ..  as in a nomination for those awards.  (that was before the categories were revamped..  and improved ! ) I still feel like those nominations I made are valid and can be supported.  it should also be noted that I knew I missed some folk.. and that my post was not inclusive of all categories, and certainly not all inclusive of all awards that I felt should be bestowed.  I hope this is not misunderstood since up to this point the proper distribution of these awards has not been clarified.

I think what has been said thus far regarding categories, and those worthy of such merit are valid.  I'm not sure what steps are needed to approve them.  Unfortunately not everyone reviews this thread subsequently they do not nominate or participate in the process.

At any rate ...  just throwing out more food for thought !!  and  ..  I'm starting to sound like an old empty horse drawn wagon so I'll stop at that.

Some of them, go ahead, award them to yourself - the karma thing for one, because the proof is right in front of everyone. The ones that indicate how many models you have released, well thats a bit of an iffy - because im not talking about models that were ONCE available a long time ago - im taking models that are available NOW.

Most improved modeller...... this would be a good award....

I would like to nominate both Fallen Warrior... and Sandman 3D for this award.... their work has improved greatly over the last year or so.


Their are obviously more..... FOA.. your work has improved ten fold..... so many people deserve this award  ..... ohhh King Constatine also.... his work has improved greatly...... 

Please make this a possibility I think it is well deserved!!!!

how does this all work then? If people are nominated for an award, and further people are needed to give additional nominations before the award is given, how do we know? will a list of nominations be displayed or is it just pot luck?

I had a look through the award images (very nice work btw), are the ones with additional silver and gold pips for multiples of the same award?

Also, who's overseeing the whole thing?

Sorry for loads of probably really obvious questions, just that reading the thread its not really clear what the score is

If one wanted to for example, you an award. they would start a thread saying "i wanna give thu11s xyz award"...depending on the award, X amount of people will need to reply to that thread saying "yeah, i agree"

Yes, no star means its awarded once, one star means twice, two stars means thrice so on and so forth. One gold star indicates 6, 2g=7, 3g=8, 4g=9, and the fancy one means 10.

Well, at the moment its kind of an honour system thing, but i believe moderators are going to be using them soon.

1.  Though I'm not sure how many ships he has done altogether, I do know he has hosted for quite some time Tutorials for modeling and texturing.

2.  As well he has been building models since SFC-1.  (Kinda been around for quite a while).

3.  Platinum Cross Award....  he has met this qualification more than once and currently building another ship ( possibly 2 that I know of ) for others.  His latest work, when completed, might even qualify for the Silver Cross (We'll know when the final model is released and see the detail on the Texturing).


I respectfully request that this motion be reviewed by the appropriate personnel for these awards.

Great work... You've obviously given this a lot of thought.  My only concern is that the whole reason for doing this justifies the work you have put in and that it wont all be forgotten 6 months down the line.  Ooops, bit pessimistic there,  perhaps you could get someone at Taldren to go "Lets make this official"... Not that it needs to be official... In fact I'm looking too deep into this one I think and whilst my own contribution to the community is extremely limited, it's great that we recognise those that have done the biz, so to speak.... Grammatically poor but you get my drift..... Yeah, I decided to quit smoking today....
