The Kirov Mark II and the Shangri-La Mark II!!
« on: October 02, 2004, 12:45:51 am »
Now on to the Kirov and the Shangri-La.  The major difference between mine and Marauth's are the the drone launcher is now on the bottom of the hull to make room for the Quick-Supply Tubes on the side.  Basically the idea being a supply ship could come alongside a warship and give it the supplies it needed, torps, drones, part etc. without pulling the ship off the front line.  Marauth came up with this idea and I ran with it on my ship.  Enough talking, here you go.

She was running as fast as she could through the dark, foul smelling swamplands. She quickly looked over her shoulder as she picked herself up off the cold, slimy mud. It was coming, she could feel it's evil glare piercing her flesh as the monster gazed into her very soul. She ran even faster, tripping over and over only to get up and keep running. It was only a matter of time, until it caught her. That was the story she was told as a child, it's victims never got away, sooner or later it caught them, and what it did then, was too horrifying for any sane person to repeat. Then she saw a glimmer of hope, a light shining in the distance, so faint she almost missed it. "I can make it", she said. Running with all of her might, her heart started to leap with joy as the light drew closer and shined a little brighter with each step she took. Then, just as she thought she was safe, it grabbed her. Fear gripping her soul, she looked into it's eyes, eyes that glowed a blazing red, as if they were windows into hell itself. She tried to scream, but it caught in her throat, not even a whimper came out. She wished that she had listened to the old man who warned her about this swamp, warned her of the terror lurking in the dark. It was too late now, as the creatures bared it's fangs, the poor woman thought back on her life. She thought back to a time when she would play on the swingset in her backyard, she thought back to her 12th birthday, the first time she kissed a boy. None of that mattered now, for she was hopelessly in the clutches of the most horrifying creature, ever to walk this earth. A creature that was called simply "the bump".

I thought I'd have a little fun, after all anyone can type bump.

You really need to get your own section of the Boards. Thne you wouldn't HAVE to keep pasting the same damn thing everytime for a bump. :p

Rogue my friend, may I make a suggestion for your mkII versions for a latter release, would you mind using the original impulse unit textures as I can see a big blue line cutting through the delection crystal where you kept the texture I took from WZ's Akula impulse section which has no deflection crystal. The texture is in general not as detailed as his standard one and that blue line look rather out of place. Just a thought.

Edit: oh and could you copy-paste the description of the Elohim I put in that email I sent you, I know you retyped it similarly but I'd prefer my original version with the ships built included and all that, plus you typed 'biggest target enemy target' which just don't make no sense, in the middle of the description, thanks in advance.
If I determine the enemy's disposition of forces while I have no perceptible form, I can concentrate my forces while the enemy is fragmented. The pinnacle of military deployment approaches the formless: if it is formless, then the deepest spy cannot discern it, nor the wise make plans against it.

How do you get your own section?  On this board or are you talking about my own?

I'll fix that on the Elohim, and think about the impulse.  Thanks for pointing that out.
