I must have downloaded a new version of MSN or something because now MSN keeps trying to sign itself on.   Zone Alarm catches it thankfully.

If I have Zone Alarm off, MSN will sign in but it doesn't even show up in the systray.   All of a sudden I'm getting chat messages and I don't even know that I am on MSN.

Needless to say this is a headache as I try to stay off of MSN while working due to the distractions (not to mention the fact that others sometimes use my computer).


How can I stop this??


(Yes, I already went into MSN Options and unchecked Automatic sign on)


IT'S DRIVING ME NUTS!!!  MAKE IT STOP!!!

1.  Open up MSN
2.  goto tools, options.
3.  Click the general tab.
4.  Uncheck the boxes in the sign in section.

Are you using MSN messenger 6.x or Windows messenger?  If you're using the latter, delete the file "msmsgs.exe" then download MSN Messenger 6.x.

If you've already got MSN 6, I don't know what to tell you.  That version works properly and not like a "function" of Windows.

XP comes with MSN open Zone Alarm go to program control and check if you have to MSN programs there (Look for windows messenger). Then just block the one you don't want to use.
