Curious about this. As I know they didn't have many alien ship models available. Does anyone have a guestimate on how many episodes showed ship battles in TOS?

Just keep in mind the graphics were circa 1966.
Early episode phaser fire looked alot like photons (particularly evident in Balance of Terror)

Photons only shown firing from lower hull (not bridge level as shown on many schematics).
Photons generally shown firing in salvos of four (despite many schematics showing only two tubes).

Klinks only ever fired disruptors from the engine mounts. No references to Klink phasers or drones. D6/7 was the only ship ever shown.

Only the Rom Warbird and KR were every shown.

Only bottom side phaser pair was ever shown firing. Single shot never shown: Always a pair. (exception: I think the constellation fired a single bottom phaser in Doomsday Machine)

I HAVE EXPERIMENTED WITH REPLACING THE EFFECTS SHOTS FROM A COUPLE OF TOS EPISODES. BUT GETTING THE FEEL AND COLOR TONES RIGHT IS PRETTY DIFFICULT.

MAX HAS LOTS OF GREAT FEATURES THAT MAKE IT EASY TO DO PRETTY SOUND EFFECTS AND THE COMBUSTION COMPOSITING TOOL IS PRETTY EASY TO USE. THE ONLY THING THAT IS DIFFICULT IS RESINKING THE SOUND EFFECTS, THE MUSIC, AND THE VOICE SOUND STUFF. YOU HAVE TO BE PRETTY GOOD AT SINKING THAT STUFF UP AND ITS NOT EASY.

I MIGHT DIG UP SOME OF THAT AGAIN....
I DID ALL OF "THE DOOMSDAY MACHINE" AND A COUPLE OF OTHERS....
THE OTHER PROBLEM WHEN I STARTED THAT A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO WAS I DIDN'T HAVE A VIDEO CAPTURE DEVICE THAT COULD GET MORE THAN 360X240.
I HAVE A PRETTY GOOD DEVICE NOW MAYBE I'LL TRY IT AGAIN. SEE WHAT I CAN COME UP WITH.

Wasn't there some actual digital enhanced reworking of The Doomsday Machine episode by some of Paramount's affliates for a possible project involving remaking TOS? I'm 99% sure I saw pictures of the new computer generated stuff on the Old Taldren Forums.

Somebody needs to bug Tracey G. about getting her 'new' Doomsday Machine mission out for SFC: OP...
