A Baker's Dozen
« on: September 29, 2004, 10:52:41 pm »
After being urged to show some pics of what we're working on, I have finally given in.

These first three ships were made by Kreeargh and are going to be released if/when I get done with their textures.

First up is the Bader class scout

Second is the Guam through-deck carrier

And third in line is a pirate bash

The next ten are going into the Dark Empires alternate universe mod for OP if we can ever get all the ships completed.

First up are the Feds

Klingons next

A Hydran in need of a retex

Romulan X era Dread

Lastly, a few kitty toys

Where and when can I get these ships?   There are a lot of ships at your site that I would love to get.

Cool! I was wondering about how Kreeargh was doing with the mod.

For those who don't know, the Bader is one of those odd duck FASA Trek ships. More information on the Bader may be found here:

http://www.sub-odeon.com/stsstcsmua/federation/bader.html

One more for the FASA Trek to SFc collection.

I REALLY want to know about the status of this WIP FBB:

Dawntreader, I should have the first three done within the next two weeks as long as things go well. Since the others are in the mod they will probably be a few months since we're still in need of help to get the rest of the new models made before anything made for the mod is released.

KF, that ship is one that Unknown Warrior has been working on. He had it textured last I knew and was doing some tweaks to it. It is a PAS (Planetary Assault Ship) and is meant to be a step above the stock BB as far as weapons and fighters it carries. He also has another carrier in the works and will hopefully be done with it soon.

For those of you who want to see some more of the Klingon ships for the mod, you can click HERE to see a page I still need to update our site with. The images will pop up when you move your arrow over them, so be sure to turn off pop-up blockers to see them. These are mostly FASA ships and were all made by Kreeargh and currently just have my base texture on them.

I've wondered for some time if any of the models were ever going to be released. It seems we will be seeing some of them after all. Cool! There have been a couple I've had my eye on. You know how it goes. Just because there has been little said doesn't mean that there aren't people hoping they will turn out well. Let us know when they are ready for service.

There are about 30 Fed ships that were made, most are either FASA designs from the Star Trek Star Ship Tactical Combat Simulator or were designs from Starship Schematic Database. There were a few from the Starship Schematic Database that we modified a wee bit. I'm sorry to say that we're not releasing any of the mod ships right now, but if you know which ones you were interested in I could give you a status report on them.

The way things are going right now, I'm having serious doubts that this mod will ever get finished. This is unfortunate in a few ways for everyone, but I guess there isn't much that I can do about it. If we could get two or three people to help then I could be optimistic, but either way the ships that are made will make it to the public at some point. I even have someone willing to host the mod on his D2 server.

I'm kinda stumped as to which one that would be. There were only a few TOS era ships that I remember pics being posted for. Most of the mod Feds were TMPish in design, but there were a few that were based off of a TOS or TNG design and then given a TMP look. I looked on the site and our forum, but didn't see anything that fit that description. We haven't removed any pics, so if you saw it at one of those two places it should be there. I'll keep looking, but if you see it go ahead and link the pic here so that I know which one it is.

Yeah, you can re-release those 'bashes as long as the proper credits are listed.

Nice ships. I particularly like that Rom and Klink. Traditional but distinctive designs.

Ack! Where's the Planetary Assualt FBB? I don't see any WIP pictures of it anywhere at the site!

As for help, if you want retexture work, I can only do that if the ships have a BASIC texture layer to work from.

Here's an update pic of the pirate bash

It's still a ways away from being finished, but you should get a better idea of how it will look. I still have to get the rest of the details on it and then clean up the textures from where I may have made a boo boo or two.

KF, I'm not sure when I'll be able to post pics of the PAS, but I'm thinking it will be in the next few days. Kree is doing some adjustments to it for Unknown. I also know before it's released that Unknown had something planned for it's naming. It might be a good idea to start thinking of a ship class and name for it once the pics go up.

I've been concentrating on the pirate ship because I decided to do more to it than originally intended. I've been trying to match the style and colors as best I can in some areas and go my own way on others  ;D . Plus everything I do to this one will eliminate extra work on the other pirate bashes Kree made. I'm slowly chipping away at the Guam, but I don't have any update pics because it hasn't progressed enough yet. I do have a couple pics of some of the updates I've done to the pirate though. Things will probably change a bit as I go, but they probably won't be major..........I hope.  ::)

I updated the last two pics of the pirate, so you might have to refresh once or twice to see the what I did to the warps. I'm not sure if I like them the way they are, or if they need something added or changed. I guess we'll find out in a day or two.

Release info huh.......I'm trying for the end of the week, but hopefully sooner. I have a few textures that need a little something and then I have to make new illumination textures once the final textures are done. I will show ya a couple more pics of what it looks like now.

Trying to incorporate some of the stock textures with mine hasn't been easy, but I think it's going fairly well.

Rhaz, the Bader and Guam are next on my list. The Bader will probably be next because the Guam is proving to be a challenge in a few areas.

Are you talking about just retexing the nacelles, or replacing the nacelles on each ship with the ones on this pirate?

Adding the glowies to the rest of the Pirates. I know it would take a while- I was just asking if it might be a project for later on?

The pirate has been released in this thread.

I think I can try to change the glows of the stock nacelles as time permits. They could use a change anyway.  :P

The more I look at those Feds the longer it looks like it might take, but I will do what I can.

Where to start...........The Guam has come to a halt and I'm not sure if I'll be able to finish it without the mesh being remapped. If you saw the textures I've made for it to this point you'd think I was taking some pretty good drugs. There are a few Lyrans that need some texture and mesh tweaks. The Klingon still has its base textures on it (as do all the others) and is waiting for me to get it finished. All of those ships and many more were going to be released as a mod.  I'm just not sure if/when that would be because of a few problems the mod has encountered. One person building models (Kreeargh) has disappeared for about 2 months now. A couple others that were supposed to be building models......... haven't. Another was supposed to be remapping some Klingon pirate ships.......hasn't happened. It's basically been Unknown Warrior, Scorpion and myself trying to get things done. I've been slowed down on retexturing because I just got done moving not too long ago and haven't had much time because of it. I can tell you that at the end of June I'm going to call off the mod if all necessary ships aren't completed, mapped and have base textures on them. At that time we'll probably release what's been done, finished and unfinished and we can work on other stuff. I figure if after two years of trying to get this done it isn't going to be worth putting more time into it. Sorry for carrying on, but I figured I'd just try to update the people that check this thread on how things aren't going.

MAJOR BUMP Where are all these great ships ? Update Please !!!!!!!!

-MP

They're still sitting here on the computer waiting for someone to help get them textured. Since they're for the mod I'll keep them until the end of next month when I figure out what to do with them. I keep trying to get help with the textures, but no takers. I'm working on bashing a bunch of Pirate ships for the mod and when they're done I'll try to get back to the retexturing.

Kreeargh made three Hydrans, but I only seem to have two and they need to be remapped and textured.

Here are those two Klinks you mentioned......

When people find out how much there is to do they tend to cringe, so I usually don't get someone willing to retex 30-60 ships as a starting point.  ::)

Just give 'em to F_W and we'll add 'em to the list of ships to do dude. Provided that when they're done we can port 'em to SFC  ;). That's all we ask.

To the best of my knowledge Kreeargh has recently sent these to F_W. SO it's just a matter of time now  ;D

So far all i have sent to outlance is a Suub3000 / landos ladyluck from starwars and the kobyashimaru fed i believe.  My internet connect sucks it takes about 45 min to upload 3 megs.
If those who want certain ships make a list i might be able to release whats been done/ some may require the downloader to texture all fancy .

I personally was looking forward to seeing/getting ahold of:

The Guam, the other fed cruiser types

That bird cage base and the D7 variant and those lovely Lyran jobs! (especially those 2 warships)

Hope they can be released or that you get some help to finish them . .

<------- wants to learn how to bash now . .  found a copy of max 5 8)
