Anyone know where the model for the Sun is?

I can't find it anywhere. Is it just a graphics file or is there and actual model for it somewhere?

I believe that is a hardcoded model.

Try a tennis ball. Their surface is kinda rough and fuzzy like the sun. Dunno what you're gonna do about the S curves tho... Magnetic disturbances... ;) Still fiddlin with Tholia?

More like realizing that "Hey.... the sun has a functional glow effect...."

I wanted to find it and have a look at it to see how thats done.

Might just be a texture in the assets texture directory. If it is a actually model like the planets then it is in the models directory. I don't currently have any of the games installed but if you state which one you are trying for some one can search those directories for you.

I'm pretty sure the model is in the sprites.q3 file. I just don't know how to open it.

I'm pretty sure it's a modified zip file though....

no that file is a modified game engine code.

Do a search on the net you might find a utility or two that can help.

The sun is a texture in SFC1 I believe, and definately in SFC2/OP, if memory serves me right.  In SFC3 we see it for the first time as a model.

no, I know it's a modified zip file of some sort.

But I can't remember how I used to open the silly thing.

Anyone remember at all?

the only thing I know that opens it for sure is a HexEditor.

After doing a quick search most links point to an image file type which is from Quake 3. Not sure if this is the case here but have you tried a utility from Quake 3 that can open .Q3 files.
