it was a utility from a hackers site that use to do that, but you can open it with other editors as well. The editor from Bualders Gate I think use to open that file as well, but it has been a long time since I played with that stuff.

I nolonger have a link to the site I got it from as it was 3-4 years ago (and now 2 PCs) since I played with that.

If either of you manage to open that file it would be a minor miracle. A means of editing it's contents is one of the subject of the Source Code plight that's been under way...

What I'm wondering is if you still have the utility, or remember the name of it.  Even with that, it might be able to be found.  :)

The answer is no

I don't have it anymore nor do I remember where I got it. Odds are the site I got it from nolonger exists. It worked very much like a hexEditor except it had custom tools for the sprite file. basically it gave you a list of command codes that would work to pick from and allow you to add and subtract things from the file. Some times it worked some times  it hosed up so bad you had to reinstall the game.

The guy who did it worked for a game company which is why I will probably never find it again. I will start to cruise through some of those old sites and see if I can locate it again. The hexeditor from Baulders gate use to do the same thing just for a different game, so it is a matter of finding those programmers again.
