Squadron Commander: EDITED AND BACK UP -- Kzinti seem to work
« on: September 21, 2004, 07:15:31 pm »

Squadron Commander is back up.  In addition, I've made some some server-side edits that I hope will fix the phaser problem with the Kzinti Mult-Role support boats.  (The Kzinti Line, Leader, and Needle support boats always worked.)

The problem appears to have been the same one I faced with the Romuland centurions.  I should have see that coming during server construciton.  The kit just doesn't like a ship with a phaser capacity of unity.  I added a phaser III to each of the affected support boats -- server side only.  My hope was that the ship record in the DB would form with the phaser III in the capacitor, but the ship would not load in the game with this extra phaser.  Thus, hopefully, the ship would have a bigger than needed capacitor and would never run into problems with an integer trying to be equal to a floating point number.  (If this is indeed what is going on.)

In 12 test missions, both the Z-FCN fi-con and the Z-MRd mine warfare PFs have had their phaser work perfectly.  Note that even with the R-CENs the problem didn't happen every mission, but with this many successes I'm hopeful the problem truly is quashed WITHOUT A PATCH!
