You cant be more wrong Hexx... I had 10 Whirlwinds. LOL! I sent in a scout squad stright into an enemy fortified area and all the enemy's close combat troops rushed in to slay my scouts only to hear the rushing sound of whistling death above their heads. The whole area was promptly, and suitably so, covered with craters sans the enemy troops... I wasnt able to find out where my scout squad went... I gave them specific orders to 'stay out of trouble'.
Wait... is that a scout's leg over there? Hrmmm. Where's my Apothacary?
Its pretty damned fun. I really dislike the 'formulae' of RTS games where you have to build stuff. But its not as bad as the Warcraft2 or command and conquer crap. You have a cpl servitors (for the Space Marine Side) and go around building a few various (not many) buildings to get/train/aquire/whatever the troops you want. Then you equip them, reinforce them, attach units like Apothacarys, commanders, sergeants, Librarians, etc. and send em out to wreck havoc.
I sent up a squad on a rooftop to cover a strategic point down below. I had it equipped like a devastator squad with 4x heavies; 2x Missile Launchers and 2x Heavy Bolters. They really knew how to sweep the street clean.
er till those pesky enemy jump pack marines landed on the rooftop and promtly chainsawed and cleaved my guys into fine red sprays of body parts flying here and there. Oh the gore...
I like it. Its pretty fun. There isnt that much depth to it tho, but I wasnt able to build teleporters and terminators yet... And I needed to find some 'relic' thing to get access to the Land Raider, but the Predator and Dreads kick ass. With just 2x multimaps and a single level campaign game, it may not have shown all there is to see from the Demo I have, but still, I felt as if there was something missing.
As far as epic, Scipio, dunno. Most I can tell is you can have 10 squads and 10 vehicles, but that was Demo. Still, 10 vehicles... that's a whole lotta steel. Thats fairly epic.
You might like it. I'll tell ya more when I buy it this week. They didnt have it although I thought they would have by the 21st.
DH: Battlefront, played it tonight. There are many better 1st person shooters. Much better. In fact, if you plan on playing this solo, dont buy it. You'll get bored and quit fast. But if multi or co-op split screen is fun, or you have lan parties, its a f*cking hoot. My kid and I were playing it tonight and we wernt watching where we were going and both screamed aloud when an AT-AT stepped on us. Hehe. I finally made it into the enemy Hoth base (I was an Imperial Storm Trooper killing dreaded and traitorous rebel scum) and made it past the Millenium Falcon and down the hangar into the base corridor, rounded the corner and saw a slew of rebel soldiers of which like 3 or so tossed grenades at me. Now that wasnt very nice...
With an online friend(s) playing multi or even a co-op splitscreen offline mode, SW BF is a freaking blast.
