This is where I am going to post the estimated downtimes due to maintenance of the server, or other issues.

This is also where you, our great community, can report the directory services for OP / EAW are down.

PLEASE, when you report an outage check the thread FIRST to determine if someone has already reported it, and whether or not an admin has responded.

Directory services and D.Net will be bouncing twice briefly this afternoon 5:00 CST.

That's roughly one hour from right now.

I expect the downtime to be momentary.

REASON: Maintenance on LOKI.

It seems that there can be more than one active Directory server by looking at the won server setup.

Could there be more than one server and could it be in a different location?

Just wondering...

You cannot run more than one instance of the Directory services.

Please remember that Dynaverse.Net is the only OFFICIAL organization who has the Directory services server.

No one else has, or is authorized to have the server.

Since there were several "won server" entries I just wanted to know if it was possible to have redundant servers. How that would be accomplished, I had not worried about.

I'm just an old computer professional that hates having a single point of failure in any system.

And thanks for hosting it. You guys saved the game when it would have gone away...

Absolutely - that's why the new "Client side" patch does just that. There's

client.sfc.dynaverse.net
client.dynaverse.net
and FireSouls mirror just in case something totally fubared happens.

OKay, we've moved the directory services to it's final, preferred server.

At this point, the Directory services should almost never go down, even when D.net goes down for maint.
